Click here to find out how you can read the first issue of Fury's Big Week for free. Below, is a preview of the second issue, just released digitally today. The 8 issue series is designed to fill in some of the gaps between the previous Marvel Studios films and The Avengers. Interesting enough, that first panel would lead you to believe that Iron Man 2, The Incredible Hulk and Thor are all happening at the same time. Can you guys say what's in each of the monitors Fury is looking at? I'll admit, a few have me stumped.

The Avengers is an upcoming American superhero film produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Pictures, based on the Marvel Comics superhero team of the same name. It is the sixth installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The film is written and directed by Joss Whedon and features an ensemble cast, which includes Robert Downey, Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner and Samuel L. Jackson. In The Avengers, Nick Fury, director of the peacekeeping organization S.H.I.E.L.D., recruits Iron Man, Hulk, Thor, and Captain America to save the world from destruction.

Development of The Avengers began when Marvel Studios received a grant from Merrill Lynch in April 2005. After the success of the film Iron Man in May 2008, Marvel announced that The Avengers would be released in July 2011. With the signing of Scarlett Johansson in March 2009, the film was pushed back for a 2012 release. Whedon was brought on board in April 2010 and rewrote the screenplay that was originally written by Zak Penn. Production began in April 2011 in Albuquerque, New Mexico, before moving to Cleveland, Ohio in August 2011 and New York City in September 2011. The film was converted to 3D in post-production.

The Avengers is scheduled for release on May 4, 2012 in the United States in 2D and 3D.

Marvel72 lol. seriously, IM2 could have used this scene. i always hated how Nick Fury just showed up out of nowhere half way through that movie... totally derailed the whole thing.

@CaptinProg yeah and technically speaking Iron man 2 ends during the middle of Incredible Hulk.

I love this so far. They should have given Fury this kind of personality in Iron man 2

It kinda good that the rise of the modern marvels happens at the same time..... And if this fury has got it bad then he needs to look at the shit Ultimate fury is dealing with

@ imnotahero

i agree with you about as iron man 2 finishes half way through the incredible hulk.

where does thor fit in because coulson says during iron man 2 his got to go to mexico where they've found the hammer,so would that mean iron man 2 & thor take place before the incredible hulk finishes.

In Iron Man 2 you can see the television that has the newscast reporting the Hulk fighting the army at the university. So that kinda shows that its happening at the same time.

Also, in Iron Man 2 Colson leaves to go look into that mess in the south. Then after credits you see him finding Mjolnir.

So yeah, its right there in the movie. All three are taking place right about the same time.

Hey bud!..... What CDB said. IM2, TIH and Thor seem to take place at the same time. They overlap each other at some point.

I think Thor starts towards the end of IM2 while THI is still happening. Now I think, and I might be wrong, (correct me if I'm wrong)... but I think Cap is before Iron Man, or after the the events of THI.
AgentDelta
AgentDelta - 2/15/2012, 12:02 PM
Umm... Cap took place during WW2 lol. :P Unless you mean the epilogue, which I think is probably the most recent event.

Ghostfire - 2/15/2012, 12:05 PM
@AgentD
The epilogue of course... :)

@AgentDelta Well, yeah. Excluding Cap. :P
AgentDelta
AgentDelta - 2/15/2012, 12:16 PM
So I think the order is:
Captain America
Iron Man 1
Incredible Hulk
Thor

The epilogues of Cap, then of Thor?

@CDB whats up man! good call. as i said in my above comment - IM2 would have been well served to have a scene like this right before the donut shop. it ties everything together better than anything else in the movie.

@Tea exactly. all they had to do was introduce him earlier and it would have been fine.

sidenote: every couple of weeks i get sad that ed norton isn't in this movie. ah well...

AgentDelta - 2/15/2012, 12:29 PM
shit forgot Iron Man 2 haha. I think it takes place between Hulk and Thor!

@ ghostfire

my head hurts mate. :D

so i think it goes something like this.....

-captain america the first avenger
-iron man
-iron man 2,thor & the incredible hulk (all at the same time)
-thor after the credits scene
-captain america after the credits scene
-the avengers

Check out my timeline for some clarification - though by looking at this I may have come to the wrong conclusion about when Cap gets found.

I think this confirms that alot of it I got right though :o))

Looking at those screens is kind of interesting - I think the most recent event they are showing is Thor taking on the destroyer.

Weather Madness in New Mexico
Monster attack (in Virgina)
And Stark Expo attack

All take place earlier.

The weird one that I have no idea about is the old fella taking a press conference. Do you think he is a Howling Commando? There to identify Cap?

I'm with you dude! Yeah, thats exactly what I thought. Just as Tea pointed out the "your not the only superhero" line in Iron Man, it might simply point out that they knew about Cap already. And just place the epilogue at the end of all the other films, for the fact that's it been 70 years, and I think we got ourselves a timeline.

@Gmoney84

Cheers mate - been working on it on an off for the past 6 months.

Nerdalert! I think the week the comicbook takes place is the week starting on the 11th May 2010 going through to the 17th May 2010.

Just a guess though but if Fury is waking up and gonna go directly to see Stark in the donut cafe then it should fit :o)

Anyone bought it yet and can confirm?

I agree IM2 should have had a scene like this to clarify for people who didn't stay after the credits for IM. They should also have show him arriving at the donut shop in a car or helicopter. He just seemed to appear out of nowhere which was kind of stupid.

went and bought it online, whats .99cents right? nothing special tho ends where fury is about to go see stark in the doughnut shop.

i'm very interested in the future issues tho, hopefully they go into more than what we;ve just seen in the films.
