There's a lot of excitement surrounding the Wonder Man TV series coming to Disney+, and Marvel Studios may now be looking to add another impressive name to the show's cast. According to scooper DanielRPK (via CBR), Scream and Friends star Courteney Cox is now being eyed for a mystery role.

There's no word on who she will play, but given Wonder Man's Hollywood setting, we can't help but wonder whether Cox will be one of the A-Listers Simon Williams crosses paths with.

Aquaman star Yahya Abdul-Mateen II has been cast as Wonder Man, while Sir Ben Kingsley is set to reprise his Iron Man 3 and Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings role as thespian Trevor Slattery. There have also been rumblings that Marvel Studios is eyeing Better Call Saul star Bob Odenkirk for a "special role."

As for Cox, she'll next be seen in Scream 6, reprising her role as journalist Gale Weathers.

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings director Destin Daniel Cretton is executive producing Wonder Man with writer Andrew Guest. His credits include hit TV shows like Brooklyn Nine-Nine30 Rock, and Community, and Guest is set to serve as Head Writer (a.k.a. showrunner) for Wonder Man. Cretton will executive produce and likely direct a few episodes.

Wonder Man made his Marvel Comics debut in the pages of Avengers #9 in 1964. Initially a villain, he was later retconned and became a hero (and an Avenger) in the 1970s. His brother is the Grim Reaper, while it was his brainwaves that were used by Ultron as a basis for The Vision (giving them something of a brotherly relationship as well).

Later, Simon Williams assembled alongside the West Coast Avengers and ultimately became a successful actor and stuntman. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 very nearly included a nod to the character's Hollywood background with Nathan Fillion lending his face to some movie posters that didn't make the final cut.

Wonder Man doesn't currently have a release date.

It's so sad to see some of the most beautiful women feel the need/pressure to go for plastic surgery and ruin their own beauty.

@Typhoon20 - What makes you think she was pressured? Couldn't she have made the decision herself?

@NicholiB - because women are perpetually victims. Duh.

@Typhoon20 - These women are millionaires. No one is pressuring them to butcher their faces and bodies. They are making their own conscience decisions to do this to vainly hold on to their youth.

We all get old. We all die. Act accordingly.

@Feralwookiee - Her net worth doesn’t necessarily make her immune to those kinds of pressures; however, I do share @Origame ‘s sentiment even if expressed sarcastically.

@ScaryTerry - In my opinion, women create those "pressures" for themselves. It's the same as women wearing makeup or dressing up...they don't do it for men; they do it to compete with other women.

Regardless of gender, if you're 50+ years old and still trying to look like you're 20, you're probably very shallow and you will lose that battle in the long run.
Just let it go ladies.

@ScaryTerry - you unironically believe women are perpetually the victims?

@Origame - No. The opposite. I said I agreed with you. Did you miss your adderall this morning?

@Feralwookiee - Hmm, perhaps. That can be said of all of us really, but we would be naive to believe that none among us are not susceptible to the influences of external pressures. Wouldn’t you agree?

@ScaryTerry - sorry, you confused me with the "even though expressed sarcastically" part.

@Origame - “because women are perpetually victims. Duh.“

Sentiment in a sarcastic tone.

Complete agreement.👍

@ScaryTerry - Personally, I would say no, although, I assume it varies greatly from person to person.

I think it matters far less as you mature (as it likely should) but there are plenty of people I know well that aren't influenced at all by society's "pressures". Moreover, what is considered "attractive" or even acceptable today surely is not even remotely the same as it was say 30 years ago. These things are always in flux of course.

@Typhoon20 - It's their own vanity and thirst to be admired that gives them that pressure.

@Feralwookiee - Yea, that’s reasonable.

Cougar... Tigra ? I wish it was Tigra, it's probably more of an agent or casting director type of role. But she'd be a nice addition to the show.

Will he even have been dead? Having been dead was a big part of Wonder Man's thing, knew what it was like being on the other side and didn't want to go there again... or something like that. That was in the days before everyone died and came back again.

I say get the whole cast of "Friends" on this show. Maybe Simon is taking part in another "Friends" reunion special or something. That way at least my wife will be interested in watching it (she's a HUGE "Friends" fan and has seen every episode about 15 times, which means, sadly, that I've seen every episode about 15 times. "Could I be any more pathetic?").
