Hard to tell because you have completely unrelated scenes next to each other. Put the last Avengers pic beside the 3rd TASM Pick for example (and even then they aren't the perfect pair)...

I think TASM had good CGI. Best of all Spidey movies, but still not award-winning quality.

Yeah, i was thinking to put pics beside to each other but its night and late. Maybe tomorrow :)
None are award winning quality.

sucks? Then we would have another kid movie! Marvel made movies such like: Thor, Hulk, Iron Man 2, America Captain. Those movies all sucked.
Marvel already ruined Spider-Man comics and made seriously cartoon to joke.

If Marvel had powers to put Spider-Man in avengers team, then we would have spider-man who dosent hide his life, and then there wouldnt be any green goblin or venom at all.

All, you want, is kid movie Pitt. SHAME ON YOU!

Hulk and Lizard both looked good. TASM had better looking environments. There quite a few shots, especially of the city, that I thought were real but found out from the special features the entire city was done digitally.

So: Avengers-1 TASM-2

FreedomFreeLife - 5/4/2013, 12:22 PM
Yeah, entire city, cars was done fully digitally.
Also school fight(Spider-Man vs Lizard) was also fully digitally. I mean class rooms, corridor, it was also all CGI but looked so real like it was real. I tought Lizard is CGI, but found out that everything was CGI.

I thought both movies had pretty good CGI and special effects.

it hasn't got the worse cgi,but the hulk alone shits on anything in the amazing spider-man.

I guess I'm completely missing the point since the Avengers is like the best CBM ever and ASM was a train wreck of a movie on par with TDKR when you consider everything important about the main character being "raped".

Toby may have sucked, but at least he was Peter Parker for 2 movies. No one else can say that yet.

Both of the movies at awesome CGI but the Avengers wins all. Avengers faced more of a challenge since it had to show 6 different Super Heroes working together and fighting giant alien ships in scenes of destruction that were not only supposed to look realistic but were supposed to give the feel that something incredible is happening. Despite all odds, the movies avoided going down the Michael Bay path of style over substance and succeeded in creating the most realistic action sequences that blew me away and reminded me of comic book panels. It brought tears in my eye.

Amazing Spider man had awesome CGI aswell but faced no real challenge you can be as all they had to do was copy stuff done already been done before, for example: Spider Man's webswinging. Most of the environments like the city at night and high school hallways could have easily been made through practical effects and sets. Although the CGI was amazing and realistic, Avengers wins all the way.

How Avengers wins, when it has worse CGI?
CGI has nothing to do with 6 different super heroes working together.

I thought Lizard looked shitty, but the rest of the effects were pretty good in TASM.
Some bits in Avengers looked off to me, too.
I think Avengers wins. Just.

Umm, The Avengers had awesome CGI. Everything from the hulk to the giant ships was incredible. The use of colorful visuals give the movie a feeling that it was ripped right out of a comic book. I cried tears of joy when I saw the movie. If you thought that The Avengers had bad CGI and ASM was better then you're either dead inside...or a girl.

But when you look at movie or images, you can see clearly worse CGI in avengers.

What has TASM vs Avengers move do to with CGI? We are talking about CGI, not the [frick]ing movies hotsho101, get the [frick]ing facts right for once!!!

My facts are usually right. My point is, both movies have awesome CGI but avengers wins because even though they had the same budget, avengers went bigger and made stuff from scratch while. Spiderman simply CGI'd two characters and backgrounds which could have looked the same if they had used practical effects. Thats my opinion.

Avengers had city and green screen behind, but Spider-Man had city made fully CGI, all cars, people on street CGI, swining, sewers, school scene, it was all CGI.

Lizard and practical? it would be looked bad.
Sony showed behind the scene, and city looked like open world, and made everything CGI, they just made camera angels to show those swinings and fights, while Marvel, avengers used on every scene just a little bit CGI, not city fully.
FreedomFreeLife
FreedomFreeLife - 5/5/2013, 9:27 AM
Yeah, avengers had more explosives but it was just at end. CGI was used a little bit in ship action scene, and at the end, while Spider-Man CGI was used in sewers, school, city and bridge which is 4.

Less but bigger, or more but less = same

Precisely Avengers used little CGI on the landmarks. The makers knew that with the budget they had they could create some of the most awesome creatures and machines ever so why waste budget on developing backgrounds you could practically shoot like city scrapers or hallways? Sets are cheaper.

Now I think the Amazing Spiderman did a fine job of creating Spider Man, lizard and backgrounds but you know? Aside from Spidey and the Lizard, nothing new was created that couldn't have been done practically.

Awesome.CGI from both but the Avengers was the most imaginative.

I have no idea where you come up with the premise that so many complain TASM had the worst cgi ever and it made it unwatchable. Quite the opposite. The visuals and cgi are usually the most complemented aspect of cgi, even by the haters. They usually complain about the reboot aspect, the way Lizard was written or characterized, how Garfield's Parker is unlikeable, etc etc etc.

TASM's cgi looked great and most have no complaints about it.

Yes. The one thing that I support in this film is the CGI and action. It's awesome. Nobody hates the CGI, some just aren't as impressed with it as let's say Avengers. Same budget, but less imagination in ASM.Hopefully the sequel will give much time to the story as they did to the visuals.

He's not lying, people actually have said that TASM has the worst cgi ever. I have no idea why, most people who say it are Raimi fanboys who try to look for every possible reason to say this movie sucks. It's kind of ironic considering the fact that the first Raimi movie's effects were crap even for it's time. People make up the excuse that it's a 10 year old movie, but dont realize how Jurassic Park came out 10 years before with half the budget and the effects blow the one in Spider-Man 1 out of the water.
