Tom Hiddleston Recalls The Avengers Director Joss Whedon Doing His Own Stunt!

Recalling a stunt The Avengers director did, make the jump for yet another chat with 'Loki' star Tom Hiddleston, as he essentially offers up more praise for Joss Whedon!

Conducted while filming for Marvel's The Avengers was underway in new Mexico, Geoff Boucher, of the L.A. Times' Hero Complex, had a descent chat with 'Loki' actor Tom Hiddleston. Seemingly an excerpt from a lengthier interview, which'll likely hit near the release, Hiddleston essentially offered up more praise for the director Joss Whedon, recalling something odd he did while preparing a stunt.

“The brain power is astonishing and he’s always giggling about something,”
the British actor said of Whedon. “He has this intermittently generous and supportive side as a director but I also think as an artist he has a really dark sense of humor. He kept telling me how much fun he had writing Loki. He steps inside the villains in a way that he doesn’t with the heroes.“

“Joss gets really excited, I love hearing him giggle from behind the monitor. It’s almost like he’s hiding behind his own giggles. He’s lost a lot of weight during this film. There was one scene where Robert Downey Jr. has to fall to floor and we were trying to work out how to do the film and trying to work out how extreme it should be and Joss came over and said, ‘I think it should be like this,’ and he just hurled himself at the floor headfirst. I was like, ‘Buddy, are you OK? We could pad you up before you do that!’ But he went up in my estimation after that.”

I'm almost sure the scene with Robert Downey Jr. falling to the floor is a part of the sequence with Tony Stark having a brutal brawl with Loki; which seemingly leads to one of them being thrown out of a window, as seen in the trailer.

Marvel's The Avengers is the Super Hero team up of a lifetime, featuring iconic Marvel Super Heroes Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, Thor, Captain America, Hawkeye and Black Widow. When an unexpected enemy emerges that threatens global safety and security, Nick Fury, Director of the international peacekeeping agency known as S.H.I.E.L.D., finds himself in need of a team to pull the world back from the brink of disaster. Spanning the globe, a daring recruitment effort begins. Starring Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner with Samuel L. Jackson and Tom Hiddleston, directed by Joss Whedon, Marvel's The Avengers will be released May 4, 2012.

Joss still has passion. It's nice to see some filmmakers are still excited about what they're doing.

This job would be a dream job. My dream has always been to make a superhero movie. Something like the Justice League would make me cream my pants everyday on set.

Funny bit of trivia about Whedon's shirt: it's actually a woman's shirt! The folks at Whedonesque.com tracked down the specifics. All you need is a paste-on beard and baseball cap to complete your Joss Whedon Halloween costume.

can u imagine spielberg or scorsese doing THAT..?? lol

anyway...i really hope Whedon's gone 1 million % on this movie. he hasn't got much on his resume, in terms of hit block busters, but, like with Raimi and Favreau, i'm willing to take that leap.

it looks like Tom Hiddleston and Clark Gregg are official members of the Whedonverse. Can't wait to see them in Dr. Horrible 2: The Rein of Bad Horse

That scene in the trailer goes from Loki and Tony fighting to Captain America getting thrown out a window and landing on the car. Someone may get thrown out a window in the Loki/Tony fight but it won’t look like it did in the trailer!
