3 TDKR Prototype Tumblers Spotted!

3 TDKR Prototype Tumblers Spotted!

Here are some new photos from the TDKR set! Could we see more than just one Batmobile, in Chris Nolan's final Batman installment? Hit the jump!

More photos from Christopher Nolan's highly anticipated The Dark Knight Rises set have emerged. In Batman Begins a scene that involved a prototype of the Batmobile being brought to the batcave, was deleted. Could it be, that we will get to see the prototype version in the "final conclusion"? What's even more interesting is the fact, that these aren't exactly 3 of the same models.

Tumbler Prototype From Batman Begins

Lucius Fox: She was built as a bridging vehicle. During combat, two of these would jump over a river, towing cables. Over here on the throttle, flip that open and throttle up. This will boost you into a rampless jump.

The Dark Knight Rises is scheduled to hit cinemas July 20th, 2012, and will feature an all-star cast that includes Christian Bale, Michael Caine, Gary Oldman Marion Cottilard, Anne Hathaway, Josh Pence, Tom Hardy, Morgan Freeman & Jospeh Gordon Levitt.

As badass as the Tumbler is, I really wanted to see a new Batmobile for TDKR.

I remember when Batman Begins photos were leaking on the internet. I hated the Tumbler. I kept thinking "wow is he screwing with the Batman Legend". Then I saw the movie and I thought "AWESOME!". I was really upset when it was destroyed in the last movie.

I heard a rumor that the reason for the multiple prototypes is that a task force to stop Batman has been setup by the police and they are trying to use his same tech against him.

THE8ATMAN...thats interesting....that makes sense since in TDK that analyst was about to disclose the identity of Batman. Finding the prototype designs. Interesting stuff.

My dumb idea: bane blows up the bridges into gotham do no outside help can get in...batman has help with the other tumbler & both are used to jump the river. Pittsburgh is full or bridges and we have 3 rivers intersecting

I TRUST NOLAN'S JUDGMENT...BUT IF THE DESIGN IS SOUND THEN WHY EVOLVE IT? I MEAN SURE I'D LOVE TO SEE A MORE FASTER SLEEKER BATMOBILE, MAYBE SOMETHING YOU CAN SAY IS THE "BATMOBILE" AND NOT THE TUMBLER THAT HAS BEEN PAINTED BLACK FOR STEALTH PURPOSES..YET IF SOMEONE IN THE COMPANY COULD DO DIGGING AND PULL UP SCHEMATICS OF THE TUMBLER AND ADD TWO AND TWO TOGETHER THAT COMPROMISED BATMAN'S SECRECY AND IDENTITY..YOU'D THINK HE'D TAKE PRECAUTIONS TO NOT HAVE IT NOT HAPPEN AGAIN WOULDN'T YOU THINK? MAYBE WHAT TUMBLERS WE SEE NOW MIGHT BE EVOLVED INTO SOMETHING MORE DIFFERENT OR TWEEKED A BIT

Man, i was hoping Bats would get a new Batmobile, since the last one was destroyed. I was hoping there would be an even more badass one...

Lol it would make no sense what so ever for the police or military to have the tumbler, to hunt down Batman, Pretty sure the whole [frick]ing city saw the tumbler on the news, and Wayne Industries are the only ones who own it, not exactly a great way to hide your identity now is it.

I like the tumbler for nolans movies, but for a less realistic version, meh.

I used to hate the tumbler, now I think it's the best Batmobile ever! And there were two tumblers in the film, when Bruce asks "What's that?" and Lucius replies "The tumbler? Oh you wouldnt be interested in that...", they show a black tumbler, but he test drives the camo one in the pic on the article above.

I would like to know why when Bats uses the missiles or goes into traffic he has to go into the prone position. Seems a little unnecessary.

@Jackie... no argument on the badass factor there, but I think Nolan's intent was to display military/ tactical gear at Bat's disposal as opposed to something that looks it was intended to be for aesthetics as well.

I heard that the Batman will have a batcopter so even if the tumbler does return to its beautiful recking self atleast Batman might end up in the air, and if he ends up in the air he might have some serious things going on in "Gotham City"

What I love is that Lucious was saying how this stuff was never picked up by the military. Seriously? Batman is taking down entire SWAT units with this tech and it's not good enough for Military?
LOL
LOL - 7/29/2011, 8:24 PM
@continuezero, I remember Fox saying that they were never able to get the "bridging" part to work right... but the car was the only success that came out of it. They may have gotten the car concept but not the whole program. Going by that logic; if the car doesn't completely work as designed, then why waste "money" on something that only half of the way works?

Other than that, I wish they'd design a new car to go all the way out with a bang in the last Nolan installment of Batman.
