Batman: Knightfall Part 2: Knightquest Trailer Sees Bane Take Over Gotham As A New Dark Knight Rises

Following the recent release of Batman: Knightfall Part 1 - Knightfall, Warner Bros. Home Entertainment has released the action-packed first trailer for Batman: Knightfall Part 2: Knightquest.

In the sequel, the Bat is broken, and Bane is taking control of Gotham City. That means a new Caped Crusader must rise to face the villain and, much to Nightwing's chagrin, that's Jean-Paul Valley, a.k.a. Azrael.

The trailer also features an appearance from Two-Face, but there's currently no official word on who is playing him or any of the new additions to the trilogy. We also don't know who wrote the script for Knightquest, after recently confirming that each chapter had a different writer

Here's the synopsis for Batman: Knightfall Part 2: Knightquest:

Batman lies broken at the hands of the villainous mastermind Bane. With Bruce Wayne paralyzed from the waist down and unable to continue as Batman, a new successor must be chosen to defend Gotham City. Jean-Paul Valley, the man also known as Azrael, must take up the mantle of the Batman. But will his more violent methods be enough to stop Bane?

We recently caught up with Batman: Knightfall supervising producer Rick Morales and asked what he could tease about the upcoming sequels.

"I think I hope, if you're a fan of Jean Paul Valley, that you'll be very happy with the next couple of films," he shared. "And also, I think one of the things that I'm most excited for is to bring Nightwing into it in a real way."

"And, you know, one of the things that I always love, because he's one of my favourite characters in comic books ever, is Tim Drake's Robin, especially this particular period. Tim Drake," Morales continued. "And I just love their relationship, you know, that sort of older brother, younger brother sort of relationship that they have. So I think that's something we'll get into, and I'm really excited about."

At this point I don’t mind if they deviate from the source material as Part 2 & 3 of Knightfall defo decline in quality and the OG reason for Bruce’s recovery sucks and Spoilers, we never really get a big Bruce show why he could defeat Bane if it wasn’t for all the scheming and Bruce’s own personal demons.

@Knightrider - I haven’t watched part 1 yet, but need to, it’s been like over 30 years. Shit seems like yesterday this came out!

@China1975 - Yeah, makes me feel old as I remember reading this first time out. It is funny how it gets forgotten that Bane admits he needed Bruce worn down to win as he’d struggle against prime Batman.

It’s probably the fact that I was 6 and 7 when the original story came out and I lived across the street from a convenience store that sold comics and I bought every single copy of Knightfall storyline so it’s near and dear to my heart, but I’m being really serious that Knightfall part 1 is probably one of the best movies I’ve enjoyed recently; and yeah that includes brand new day and the odyssey. I guess it’s just nostalgia for me but the Kelly Jones art brought to life, the violence…Hell even Michael mando’s voice as bane I mean the guy sounds nothing like he does in interviews and made himself into a different beast for Bane. It was just all so good, and my favorite - absolute favorite - suit of all time is the 90’s Jean Paul Blue batsuit (not his batshit crazy red one). Seeing that at 1:21 mark is just hype. Cannot wait for this.

Part one was good but a lot of the story was missing. The old audiobook tells more of the story.

@AnthonyVonGeek - Dirk Magg's DC adaptations are perfection. He got a shout-out in the recent Legion of Super-Heroes #1 too, they named a character after him.
