Batman: Assault on Arkham was released digitally, for OnDemand and iTunes on July 29th. However, now the Rocksteady Arkham based, animated feature is available for purchase on blu-ray and DVD.

Batman: Assault on Arkham will have its World Premiere on Friday, July 25 at Comic-Con International. Produced by DC Entertainment and Warner Bros. Animation, the next entry in the DC Universe Original Movie series will be released by Warner Bros. Home Entertainment on Digital HD on July 29, and on Blu-ray Combo Park on August 12. When the government teams up a group of supervillains with the code name Suicide Squad and forces them to break into Arkham Asylum to bring back top secret information the Riddler has stolen, Batman soon becomes involved. But things go from bad to worse when one of the Squad (Harley Quinn) frees the Joker, who has the means to not only blow up the asylum, but most of Gotham City as well.

@Doopie - I agree that the sexual references and violence has been out of place lately. I'm 38 years old. They're fine for me and I enjoy them but what'e the point if my 5 and 7 year old sons can't watch them. I wish DC would cater more to them and not to 38 year old dorks like me.

I disagree. There are hundreds of hours of DC cartoons available for kids. What's wrong with a few hours that aren't?

Either way, I thought this movie was great, not for the sex and violence, but for the fact that it was genuinely a suicide squad movie and offered something a little different.

I think all of the dc animated films are geared for adults. My son in no way is a sheltered kid he play the Arkham games and does a lot of things that he probably shouldn't. But I felt uneasy when the joke was beating the head in on Jason in under the red hood and I never really feel that way with my son. He has watch everyone so far but he might have to skip this one
