JAMES HARVEY at World's Finest has provided an early look at the cover of the novelization for
Batman: Gotham Knight.
Written by comics scribe
Louise Simonson (
Superman: The Man of Steel), the novelization will adapt the six stories that make up the highly anticipated direct-to-video animated feature.
Batman: Gotham Knight is set in the time period between 2005’s
Batman Begins and the upcoming
The Dark Knight, which stars
Christian Bale as Batman and
Heath Ledger as The Joker.
The six animated shorts were directed by
Bruce Timm (
Batman: The Animated Series,
Justice League) and written by
Brian Azzarello (
Batman: Broken City),
David S. Goyer (
Batman Begins),
Greg Rucka (
Gotham Central),
Jordan Goldberg (producer,
The Dark Knight),
Josh Olson (
A History of Violence) and
Alan Burnett (
Batman: TAS).
The animation is handled by three Japanese animation production houses--Production I.G. (
Ghost in the Shell), Madhouse (
Vampire Hunter D), and Studio 4°C (
The Animatrix)--and each segment features its own distinct anime-influenced style.
Cover-priced at $6.99, the
Gotham Knight novelization lands on bookshelves April 29th, courtesy of The Berkley Publishing Group.
Batman: Gotham Knight is slated for a June video release.
Christopher Nolan's
The Dark Knight hits theaters on July 18.
