On Facing Off Again Tom Hardy:

"Sounds good. I liked him in 'Inception' and I did see 'Bronson' as well. He seems like he's a balls-out actor."

On The Future Of His Time As Batman:

"I think so. That's up to Chris. That was always what the discussion was. But you know, if Chris says, 'I see another story here,' then we'll be up for it. But in my mind, I'm expecting this will be it."

On Returning To The Role In 20 Years To Adapt The Dark Knight Returns:

"It would not be bad."

yeah it would be badass. but i want a returns now not in 20 years. the dark knight rises could be similar to returns. batman retired because of the police hunt and the burden of harvey's ''murder'', he takes the mantle of the bat once more after 20 years.

Mr. Bale sure gushes with giddy excitement there, doesn't he?

I don't know about Nolan's DKR. I'd much prefer to see it as a standalone project to be released five years or so after Rises.

Obligatory pimping of my DKR fancast here.

I don't really want to wait 20 years to see Miller's Dark Knight Returns -- but I do think that's a cool idea! I'm all for TDKR adaption. Maybe after one or two solo movies of Green Lantern, Flash, Superman, Wonder Woman, and then the Justice League. After JL, then we get TDKR!

if TDKR does well i bet WB would asked Christian Bale and Chris Nolan to do another one

@XmutantX

thats because its from MTV they always do these interviews piece by piece.

Superguy, so ypur telling me you don't wanna see a TDKR movie because Batman gets a few shots in on Supes in it? in that book Batman DID beat up Superman, and it was glorious! That doesn't mean its black and white in everyone's minds that batman will always beat up Superman! Its whoever the writers decide wins in any particular story. Characters are irrelevant without writers wouldn't you agree?

@LEEE - Leave Micheal Keaton where he belongs... in the eighties... he was good in his day... but he wouldn't do it justice today

Don't want Bale to continue on if Warner decides to continue the franchise. Don't get me wrong, Bale's a GREAT Batman. His voice doesn't even bother me that much. But they should get another young actor who'll be able to carry out another trilogy. Bale would be getting too old...It already shows around his eyes. TDKR would surely be set about 1yr or so after the events of TDK, but the actor is alredy 3 years older

JoshWilding - 11/23/2010, 11:47 AM
Sounds like this will be both Nolan AND Bale's last Batman movie. It's a real shame that neither of them will be back for a fourth installment in the franchise, but despite Bale's objections, I have a feeling that a big enough paycheck from Warner Bros would convince him to work alongside a new director! :)

No to Bale. Period.

P.S.- Superman is faster than a speeding bullet and is basically a giant solar battery capable of harnassing the power of the sun. And people still think that Batman can beat Superman? Flash could, Now that I'm thinking about it so could almost every member of the JLA with the exception of Aquaman. Hell even the Wonder Twins could. When it comes down to it, Batman is still just a man with no powers in a suit with cool gadgets. He's like the James Bond of the superhero universe.

First of all, Snyder is interested NOW in making it. And Man of Steel just might be the bridge to his goal! I highly doubt we'd be waiting 20 years for it. And i'll be exstatic when they get another actor to play Batman. I "like" Bale, but he is by no means a perfect casting choice for Bruce Wayne/Batman.
BlackRobin98
BlackRobin98 - 11/23/2010, 12:06 PM
Did our eyes decieve Us Comic bookies? (< yeah I'll get crap for that one but hey the name is Robin, atleast I'm not sayin 'holy' unless I'm references my Christianity) A 'good guy' Bale? AN OPTIMISTIC BALE WHO ACTUALLY SEES PAST DKR STORY WISE?? In previous interviews he would not even admit to their being a NEXT ONE (3rd one/DKR) let ALONE one past that with team Nolan!! WOW< I actually now have hope for a Obama being a 2nd Termmmie lol. And in all seriousness, I don't see it happening (well maybe Obama Returns lol) but its nice to see him optimistic about it. Most of the other actors including the DEAD (thats right I said it, he DIED in the end of the last one) Two Face/Eckart, says that whatever Chris is down for they are, they are seriousy on his balls, they worship the guy
Xandera
Xandera - 11/23/2010, 12:06 PM
@LEEE - Keaton was a great Batman and so is Bale... But Keaton couldn't pull it off in Chris Nolan's Batman Movies... That's all I'm sayin man
BlackRobin98
BlackRobin98 - 11/23/2010, 12:15 PM
@shaman, you can't jus get a way with tha statement open ended. Ok guy then WHO is?? like Goyer said there are alot of choices (in presend day, past day and no doubt FUTURE day hollywood) that would make a good Bruce(hell even Jake G and the star young actor in The Event who look like a young Bale to me!!) and there are many who would make a good Batman (I think to an extent Val Kilmer -let the hate comments begin - did, jus not built/muscular enough) but not many who can do both. Point is its ez to shoot off the mouth with hate for Bale and proj Nolan/&its casting but make some credible replacement suggestions. And all you cats who say you want a COMIC oriented Batman, You are GETTING it with the Nolanverse. Batman lives in a REAL world thats the essence and POINT of him being a real man. Its not that he has NO powers as much a he is a REAL man. Do You consider yourselfs powerLESS or manFUL. Do You define yourselves jus by a lack of what you don't have? Theere is not POINT in Batman being a man 'without powers' unLESS he lives in a real world, otherwise he is a waste of a comic book story IMO, I mean whats the point? ITs like having a super sports car with out the exotic paint, V12 engine, retractable roof and ass-appeal. The 'real' Batman would live in a 'real' world anything short of tha and he'd be in WAY over his head thats why I dont' like crossovers that fearture Batman and metahumans but again, EZ on that hateful responses b/c this is jus MY humble opinion, you're free to disagree as Im SURE you will in mass

marvel72 - 11/23/2010, 12:27 PM
they should treat batman the same way they do james bond,do a few films then recast the role for another batch of movies.

its all warner/dc entertainment want to make is batman films they have no faith in their other characters.

TDKR with keaton today would be simply epic. the man nailed the role...
LEEE777
LEEE777 - 11/23/2010, 12:45 PM
Xandra @ Cool dude, yeah tho BATMAN is bigger than NOLAN... end of the day it'll be a Frank Miller BATMAN, after all if Nolan messed about with it too much it would lose everything it is!

Glad we both like KEATON & BALE lol, and yeah [frick] CLOONEY! : P
Xandera
Xandera - 11/23/2010, 1:00 PM
@LEEE - Clooney deserves to burn in hell for his Bat Nipple suit alone
Shaman

BlackRobin98- Talent wise; Karl Urban, Tom Jane, Josh Brolin, Jon Hamm, Adrian Pasdar, Jensen Ackles and Hugh Jackman just to name a few. Neither of them would be "perfect" but IMO better than Bale. And as for your opinion on the "point" to Batman, DCU vs Nolanverse, how could you be right when it would actually mean that all fifty something years of the character's history had no point? So, i'll go in favor of getting a comic version of Batman on screen over a hyper-realistic Nolan film. I collected all those comics specifically because they didn't showcase your opinion of what the character's point is. Even though in the books he never had any powers, at least he still had ninja skills. Where the hell were they in Nolan's films??? Flew out the [frick]ing window? So that would mean that Nolan's whole introduction to his first film didn't have a point either. Brilliant.
