In the year 2051, high schooler Terry McGinnis revives the role of Batman in Neo-Gotham under the guidance of an elderly Bruce Wayne, the former caped crusader who retires from the mantle after betraying a lifelong promise.

directed by
Joseph Kosinski (TRON: Legacy, Oblivion)

STARRING
Timothy Dalton (The Living Daylights, Penny Dreadful) // Bruce Wayne
The original Batman, he is Terry's employer, mentor, and predecessor. During his final mission as Batman, Bruce suffered a heart attack that forced him to use a gun in self-defense; abhorred by this, he hung up his cape and cowl.

Tye Sheridan (Mud, Ready Player One) // Terry McGinnis
Under the pretense of doing errands for Bruce, Terry fights crime as the new Batman. Terry was chosen to be the new Dark Knight as he shared a similar loss as Bruce had; that being the death of a parent.

Jessica Henwick (Game of Thrones, Iron Fist) // Dana Tan
Dana is a senior at Hamilton Hill High who's been dating Terry McGinnis off and on for several years.

Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje (Lost, Pompeii) // Mr. Fixx
Derek Powers' right-hand man. He is responsible for Warren McGinnis' murder under his employer's orders.

Frances McDormand (FargoThree Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri) // Barbara Gordon
Having been hardened through years of personal tragedy, Commissioner Barbara Gordon is not entertained by the notion of Batman's heir and often clashes with Terry.

Gabriel Basso (Super 8, The Kings of Summer) // Nelson Nash
Nelson Nash is a student at Hamilton Hill High School. He’s the star of the hockey team and a notorious bully.

Ben Hawkey (Beaver Falls, Game of Thrones) // Howard Groote
Howard Groote is a socially inept student at Hamilton Hill High School who's friends with Terry, Dana and Max.

Geena Davis (Thelma & Louise, The Long Kiss Goodnight) // Mary McGinnis
Terry’s mother, he came to live with her when her ex-husband, Warren, was killed.

Bruce Greenwood (Star Trek, Gerald’s Game) // Warren McGinnis
Terry’s father and Mary’s ex-husband, he's killed by Derek Powers through Mr. Fixx because he found out about the production of an illegal nerve gas.

Barry Pepper (Saving Private Ryan, True Grit) // Harry Tully
An employee of Wayne-Powers who found out about the production of an illegal nerve gas. He was killed by it but before his death was able to give Warren McGinnis data on the gas.

PROLOGUE
The year is 2051, Bruce Wayne is in his 70’s and unfit to carry on as Gotham City’s caped crusader. After having to rely on a firearm to defend himself from a criminal, he hangs up the cowl, ashamed of the promise he’s broken to his parents and to himself.

Derek Powers, CEO of Powers Technology and a corporate kingpin, takes over Wayne Enterprises and merges the two companies forming Wayne-Powers. Under Powers’ leadership the company continues to grow, however, it enters into the research and manufacture of weapons much to Bruce’s dismay. But due to the former caped crusader’s failing health in his old age, Powers’ is left with unsupervised, free-reign over the company.

He develops a deadly mutagen with plans to sell it internationally. He stages a lab accident and tests the gas on one of his employees, Harry Tully. Before his death however, Harry manages to pass on vital information about Powers’ unethical dealings to a co-worker, Warren McGinnis.

@DetectiveCinema - Well, I do find it amusing that your Warren McGinnis has been Batman before.

It’s good. Some are off and it’s a minor complaint to speak of age because there in their early 20s and realistically they could pull it off. I think Geena Davis is too old though, for Mamma McGinnis and Frances McDorman is phenomenal but doesn’t fit best for Barbara. Dalton is phenomenal for Wayne, however

@ager - I always find casting teenager roles with actual teenagers tough, but yeah, early to mid twenties is still realistic in my opinion. Thanks for feedback!

Sounds pretty cool. Though I wasn't huge on Oblivion OR Legacy so I'm unsure about your first director choice.

@TheRealTomServo - One of the main factors of having Kosinski helm the first film was his ability to create/establish a futuristic world (in Tron somewhat but mostly in Oblivion) and Chad Stahelski for the second film for because I really loved how he handled John Wick: Chapter II on his own, and would like to see the film go in a darker direction.

*Sees Batman Beyond and Detective Cinema*

Great pics! Joseph Kosinski is a perfect choice for director. All the casting choices are right on; Dalton as Bruce caught me off guard at first but I think it could definitely work.

Man, a Batman Beyond live action movie done right would be so great to see.

@ELAYEM - Hahaha, thanks man! You got anything coming down the pipeline anytime soon?

Bruce was definitely one of the harder casting choices, but once I settled on Dalton I was pretty happy. Being a former James Bond plus his work on Penny Dreadful is what sold me.

Sorry for not commenting sooner:

- Hmm. Maybe if Timothy can put on an American accent, then I can see him as Bruce Wayne.
- Oh, I'm cool with Tye Sheridan as Terry.
- Unsure if Jessica will be doing teen roles anytime soon. I don't think I'd mind her as Dana though.
- Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje is already playing Killer Croc in the DCEU. I'm not sure if he'd play another Batman character in a different DC cinematic universe.
- I think Barbara Gordon in Batman Beyond is a little older than McDormand's age. That's just me talking.
- You might need actors a decade younger than your current choices for Mom and Dad McGinnis.
- Oh, Alfre Woodard as Amanda Waller. Sounds tempting!
