NIGHTWING Director Chris McKay Shoots Down Rumor That Zac Efron Has Been Cast As Dick Grayson

No, Zac Efron won't be playing Dick Grayson in the Nightwing movie - at least, not according to Chris McKay.

On Saturday, voice-actor Jon Bailey Tweeted out that he'd heard the Baywatch actor had been "confirmed as Nightwing", but when a fan asked McKay for clarification, the director responded with a blunt, "not true."

Of course, this doesn't necessarily mean that there's nothing to the rumor. Bailey may have been misinformed, but there's always a chance Efron was, or even still is a contender for the role.

McKay has previously said that it'd be quite a while before we get any kind of official announcement regarding Nightwing, which suggests that they're casting a very wide net in the hopes of snagging the perfect actor to portray the DC Comics hero.

Tell us, do you think Efron would suit the role, or are you happy to hear that there's nothing to this rumor? Sound off below.
