THE BATMAN Will Focus On The Noir, Detective Side Of Ben Affleck's Caped Crusader

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice gave us the armor wielding,  kryptonite-spear slinging version of Gotham City's shadowy protector but director Matt Reeves wants to show a different side.

There’s a chance to do an almost noir driven, detective version of Batman that is point-of-view driven in a very very powerful way, that will hopefully connect you to what’s going on inside of his head and inside of his heart,” said Reeves to New Trailer Buzz during an interview for War of the Planet of the Apes.

It will be interesting to see what side of The Caped Crusader we see in Zack Snyder/Joss Whedon's Justice League. When The Batman finally hits theaters, will Reeves be presenting a new take on Affleck's grizzled vigilante or will he be continuing groundwork already laid in the team's cinematic confrontation with Steppenwolf?

Hopefully he doesn't get a ton of Batman questions to the point where he's tired of it like Affleck did haha

@DJRock93 - Especially since, by all accounts, WotPotA is as amazing as the past entries.

I never thought Planet of the Apes would be one of my favorite trilogies.

@DJRock93 - couldnt agree more. The non stop batman questions drove a very talented director crazy, and I dont even blame affleck. If i put my blood sweat and tears into a personal project and nobody gave a shit about yet everyone asked batman questions that I could never actually answer I would be sick of it haha

Media always fishing and asking loaded questions

Wow calm down Batfanboys.

So it will be the first ever detective-ish Batman movie, alright.

Still waiting for a release date at least though. Though no rush, we got plenty of other things to entertain ourselves with first.

@EnnisFan - You are right, my comment was a little too bossy. I was simply taken back by the quick and hailing reception to this news which made me realize that the "Batwank" is indeed real.

@BigDriggs - I was thinking more along the lines of Riddler, since he hasn't quite been done justice yet on the big screen
