Warner Bros. held a presentation at CinemaCon last night, but none of the footage shown during the event has been released online. That's not hugely surprising, though it certainly wouldn't have been the worst thing in the world to finally share the trailer for The Matrix: Resurrections!
A featurette for The Batman was also screened for those in attendance, and it included at least a few noteworthy moments for those of you excited to return to the world of the Caped Crusader.
According to ComicBook.com, there were shots of Bruce Wayne removing his cowl and director Matt Reeves explaining that while The Batman isn't an origin story, it does take place during the early stages of his career. Batman was also shown beating up some thugs, and star Robert Pattinson notes that this version of the hero is "really working out his rage" and "all the fights seem very personal."
Andy Serkis' Alfred Pennyworth was finally revealed (we don't have a description of his appearance, unfortunately), and that was followed by the Batmobile racing into action with flames coming from its exhaust.
Screen Rant adds that Pattinson promised a "radically different" version of the hero from previous movies, while Reeves said fans should expect an "emotional Batman movie." The vigilante was also shown fighting Catwoman, while Batman makes use of various weapons. The clip ended with the filmmaker saying, "We can’t wait for you to see The Batman in theaters next year."
We're not anticipating this being released online, but it could debut during DC FanDome in October. However, the hope is that a new trailer will premiere during that event as one is now long overdue.
The Batman is set to be released on March 4, 2022.
