Third Trailer For THE DARK KNIGHT RISES To Debut In May With DARK SHADOWS?

It sounds as if the third trailer for the highly anticipated movie from director Christopher Nolan is set to be released with Tim Burton's Dark Shadows, although there is speculation that we'll see it even sooner. Read on for details.

According to Batman On Film, the second full theatrical trailer for The Dark Knight Rises (third if you count the teaser) will debut in front of big Warner Bros. release, Tim Burton's Dark Shadows. While it may seem apt that it should be attached to a film from the man who helmed Batman back in 1989, the site also has a theory that we may see it even sooner. Here's what they claim to have been told.

"I got a heads up that the next trailer for THE DARK KNIGHT RISES will come in mid to late May -- possibly with DARK SHADOWS. I figured Warer Bros. might attach the next one with WRATH OF THE TITANS on March 30th and I still believe that could happen. Stay tuned."

Here's hoping the studio release it online a little sooner this time so we won't have to endure a week of poor quality bootlegs (don't count on it). What do you guys think? Sound off with your thoughts in the usual place and stay tuned for more details.

STARRING:

Christian Bale as Bruce Wayne/Batman
Michael Caine as Alfred
Gary Oldman as Commissioner Jim Gordon
Morgan Freeman as Lucius Fox
Tom Hardy as Bane
Anne Hathaway as Selina Kyle/Catwoman
Joseph Gordon-Levitt as John Blake
Marion Cotillard as Miranda Tate
Josh Pence as Ra's Al Ghul

RELEASE DATE: July 20th, 2012

love the gifs,i thought the amazing spider-man trailer was good i loved that first person mode & it came across like it was going to be pretty dark in places.

see it alright to have a different opinion, but some just don't like it when you have.

Grif is the man. Stop reporting him and just embrace the flavor he brings to the comments section.

@ Teabag, you're right about it looking like Batman is going to be on the side. I hope not.

I think it should debut at Avengers, IMO. The third and final trailer for TDK debuted with Iron Man and the final trailer for Inception debuted with IM2.

tea and DoctorSnide@ I was wandering the same about Batman, especially since Bane has Bruce Wayne as a hostage and Bruce will be on the mend for some time.

Cool I guess. I'm just ready for another Amazing Spider-man trailer and the debut of the Man of Steel trailer. Personally, I thought The Amazing Spider-man trailer has been the best so far. I've watched that one at least 20 or so times. Haven't watched the others more than 10 times. Most anticipated comic book movie for me this year.

Nice. I'd prefer Wrath Of The Titans, but the new trailer debuting with either one is fine with me.

Is it me, or are they hiding Anne Hathaway in her "Catwoman" get up now? Seriously, even though Bane catches flak, he still has a decent amount of hardcores saying he's awesome. It seems that ever since Catwoman got the big 'MEH' from fans, she's been in hiding. Except as Selena Kyle in the trailer.

TASM is going to be as that... picture has it. IT will be better than the Avengers. AND that's coming from a dude that has seen and read almost all of Whedon's work!

@mbembet Hate to break it to you, but directors usually are not responsible for the trailers and ad campaigns, although some of them direct the occasional trailer.
