BATMAN vs SUPERMAN Producer On Ben Affleck And Wonder Woman

Longtime Zack Snyder collaborator and Man of Steel producer Wesley Coller chatted with a few local Michigan news outlets on the eve of delivering the commencement speech at his alma matter, Eastern Michigan University. The conversation naturally touched on his involvement with the untitled, Batman vs Superman production, currently scheduled to kickoff filming in Michigan this February. Beginning with the online reaction to the Ben Affleck Batman casting, Coller told MLive, "Because we’ve historically done fan favorite fare – "Watchmen", we remade "Dawn of the Dead" – I’ve developed a pretty good perspective on this. Anything you do that’s culturally significant, or any time you deal with an iconic character or story, you’re going to hear responses from every possible perspective. So nothing surprises me anymore. If anything, that gauges the relevance of a property or character, and it’s invigorating to know people care that much. It inspires you to make the coolest version of the movie that you can. Ben is the perfect fit for Zack’s vision for this story."

On Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman appearing in the film, Coller added, "(My daughter’s) favorite book is this little Wonder Woman flip book. It has the lasso, the invisible plane, the bracelets – every page has an image she’s just in awe with. And something that’s become a reality, being a dad with a new daughter, is that I have a special place in my heart for the idea of a strong, empowered female superhero being out there." And on whether there's currently a plan in place to spinoff Gadot into her own, solo Wonder Woman movie after Batman vs Superman? "We’re super excited to have her in the film, it will be a ton of fun, but at the same time, we’ve got to stay focused on the film we’re working on now."

And how is Coller and co. taking the incredible amount of scrutiny and attention the film is receiving? He told the Detroit Free Press, "Not a day goes by that I don’t think wow, people are really on fire with that idea or that concept or that character. It makes me excited to do what I do. It also makes me think the responsibility is in our hands to make something cool and fun."

Okay, Avengers had an invisible, flying aircraft carrier, but WW having an invisible jet would be too corny? Ummm.....no, not if they do it right. Make it a stealth fighter, that becomes invisible in a way similar to the helicarrier, and it can work.

@CalvinThelncredible I am hoping they have her fly, which hasn't been done except in the cartoon. I think it makes sense, but I have a feeling she is going to have an invisible Jet.

I think it would be better for her to steal a jet that is able to use camo (similar to the shield helicarrier) and it becomes her own way of transport around the world to handle global issues for herself. I could see that working but not Wonder Woman just sitting in mid air flying around...lol that would be very cheesy! lol

The invisible jet is badass. They had it in X-men and they had it (for the most part) in Avengers.

Just because she can fly, doesn't mean she can fly the speed of Superman. I am sure her plane can move faster than her.

Invisible plane or gtfo!! If Marvel can make it work, DC can make it work too! It's Wonder Woman, she needs the invisible plane, the lasso and the bracelets just like Thor needs the Mjolnir and Captain needs the shield.

Wonder Woman movie will be a critical and commercial failure.

I think Gal would be great in the movie (not really, unless she bulks up like Amy Adams has suggested) but her biggest flaw is her ability to act....She may be a great supporting character but can she really be the lead in a Wonder Woman solo movie? Is her acting ability strong enough to do that? Wesley Coller didn't even want to get close to answering that question....

Maybe she will loose her power and she needs the jet to get back to amazon
