In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Ben Affleck was asked to share his thoughts on Kevin Smith's recent comments that he'll be suiting up in a Jim Lee inspired Batsuit. As you might expect, the director and actor avoided saying anything too specific, but he does seem to be extremely confident in Zack Snyder's ability to deliver an incredible take on the iconic DC character. Affleck also sounds extremely happy with what he's so far seen of Batman Vs. Superman, so check out what he had to say in full below, and then sound off with your thoughts in the usual place!

Well, I don’t want to get too far afield and I’m sure I’ll have time to talk about Batman down the road. What I’ll say is that I really like Zack. From what I’ve seen of what’s Zack is doing, it’s made me very excited. One of the nice things about being an actor in that movie is they show you all the stuff before anyone else gets to see it. So all the sort of world-creation, and the take on the character and the other characters is really exciting. And at the end of the day, the truth is it’s really directors that make movies work or not — especially these kinds of movies, where it’s about the whole world, and a rising tide lifts all ships. And if it all has integrity, if it all has a sense of realism, then it works. And if it doesn’t, than it doesn’t really matter what everyone’s doing [on the screen] because they just look like a bunch of Mexican wrestlers in suits.

"look like a bunch of Mexican wrestlers in suits"...unnecessary comment

I agree with him. While I hope it isn't super-realistic like Nolan's trilogy, I certainly hope it isn't like Batman forever and Batman and Robin's silly style. I think the tone of the Arkham games are a good way to go.

He's getting flack here for the wrestler comment….but is he not right in saying that? That's exactly what the original costumes were based on, them and circus strongmen. He's not saying anything completely negative. Affleck is a really big comic fan.

I'm sure he know's what he's doing since he's a screen writer and a director. Cavill vouches for Affleck so i'm sure that Affleck will be suitable in the role as Bruce Wayne/Batman. The tone of the film wont be too realistic but i'm certain the tone of this film will feel grounded and will have a sense of realism just like Man of Steel did.

@ MexicanSuperman

No. Don't think it's racist. Affleck has never struck me as that at all. Just a bad choice of words.

I'm positive certain ppl are misunderstanding the concept of "realism" that Affleck is describing. I have zero doubts that we will NOT be getting another Nolan style Batman.

Since Ben Affleck is Batman whether we like it or not, at least he has the enthusiasm and he is a great actor.
I just want to see the costume already!!!

I think the suit might be some kind of spandex mesh or something, instead of the new age armor look thats been in the past 7 Batman movies.
