“I'm sure he'll be fantastic above all else!” Man of Steel star Henry Cavill tells Total Film of actor Ben Affleck playing Batman in the hotly-anticipated sequel. “And as a filmmaker, he's got his own style, you know. He's not copying anyone else. And he's also sort of being tenacious in his career. He's had ups followed by downs, and now he's very up again. I think that requires and shows a very special strength of character. And it's something which I enjoy working with because jobs like this require strength of character. They require a dedication to the work and belief in oneself, and Ben has that, clearly.” What do you think? Starring Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Amy Adams, Diane Lane, and Laurence Fishburne, the Man of Steel sequel releases July 17, 2015!

So the first time we hear Cavill talk about a sequel to his movie is centered about what he feels about Batfleck?

Real answer: GREAT I thought my career was finally taking off, but hey Im sure Ben Affleck needs more fame than he already has. I thought I was making a Superman sequel and I was the star. Now not only am I being overshadowed as an actor, but the character i play is being overshadowed as well...

Cavil and Affleck have more than likely tested playing Batman and Superman next to each other MOTHNS ago. Cavil had been hinting Batman v Superman before Man of Steel even came out. Affleck was Batman probably back in February or March maybe even earlier

@ Tevii and Sage

I guess Cavill could be like RDJ and just take the money right out of the other actors pocket and replace that person with another actor! Errrrr Ironman 2 and 3

You mean Howard and Rourke, two actors that are infamous for being assholes on set? Good riddance. And what does that have anything to do with the subject at hand? Upset cause we pointed out the truth? Lol

Henry Cavill is THE perfect Superman! Can't wait to see him on screen again!

I'm eager to see Ben's Batman, Christian Bale is still my NO.1 Batman so he has quite the shoes to fill. But I have no doubt the costume will be fantastic, as was with Supes.

Snyder sure can direct some epicness, and Fong is definitely a better DOP than Mokri. I'm 100% sure they'll shoot on 35mm again, but I really really really hope they'll also use IMAX camera's!!!!!!

I think he changed his moves so he not kill anyone, I am sure The League of Shadows thought how to kill people, but who knows.

Most of the world sees it as a great thing only the Marvelite Trolls would make it into something negative.

People are talking about Batman because:

1) He is the new element. We've seen Cavill's Superman, but we haven't seen Affleck's Batman.

2) Batman will be played by a famous actor.

3) The polemic casting of Ben Affleck.

It's more than natural that Affleck will get more attention at least until the first trailer. But I won't judge prematurely, it still sounds like a Superman sequel with Batman as a supporting character to me. But even if it ends up not being the case, who cares as long as the movie is cool? They could totally make a movie about the conflict between Superman, Batman and Lex Luthor using the events of the first film as the bottom line.

His demeanor in his latest interviews and fan pics appear worn. He doesn't look like the same guy that was excited about making MOS. He must be really tired and worked these days. It has to be exhausting being him. Still he poses with fans and answers the same inevitable questions over and over again. And seems like a really Good guy too. Looking forward to his next suiting as Supes. I wonder if he still has it in him to want to do more after this?

MisterMoustache - you make valid points... but at the end of the day, its Warner Bros. pushing their Cash Cow Batman to center stage.
Its the WB executives typical kind of move. No vision and no faith in anything other than Batman.
