Ben Affleck's Batman was well-prepared to take on Superman (Henry Cavill) when the two squared off in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice this past March. In addition to his kryptonite-based weapons, The Caped Crusader also utilized a mechanized suit of armor to amplify his strength and durability against the weakened Kryptonian.

Artist Jerad Merantz has posted some concept art of the Dark Knight Returns-influenced suit on his official website, showcasing the overall design along with a detailed look at the suit's gauntlets and shouder armor. Check them out below!

Fearing the actions of a god-like super hero left unchecked, Gotham City’s own formidable, forceful vigilante takes on Metropolis’s most revered, modern-day savior, while the world wrestles with what sort of hero it really needs. And with Batman and Superman at war with one another, a new threat quickly arises, putting mankind in greater danger than it’s ever known before. Starring Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot, with Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne, Diane Lane, Jesse Eisenberg, Jeremy Irons, and Holly Hunter, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is directed by Zack Snyder, written by Chris Terrio from David S. Goyer's screenplay.

Regardless of my thoughts on the movie, the suits were fantastic.
Still am hoping Superman gets a new suit.

@SimplyAz - that suit looks so good there!

@JonTargaryen94 - I would love to see it on screen in it's natural colour.

@SimplyAz - well there was an edited MoS video on youtube with brighter colours.
Going forward, I expect less filter on film, start dark, gradually moove on to light.
A filter and colours can greatly influence someone's mood on the film!

@JonTargaryen94 - An interesting way to film BVS would have been to keep the darker filter for Batmans/Bruces scenes but have it lighter when Superman/Clark are on screen.
A bit like how Limitless the show does it to differentiate when he takes the tablet.

@SimplyAz - It is, they chose very different colour palettes for both characters. As far as I can remember, at least. But they're also going through probably the worst crucibles in their lives, even Supes, so a really bright filter for him wouldn't suit his arc properly.

@DavidGray -

Maybe they can use it more so for JL where he returns realising how much the world loves him and he us happier.

@SimplyAz - Yes, thats how I thought Zack was going to do it in all honesty.
The only time we got bright Superman scenes were in the montage. Superman scenes should be in daylight, Batman scenes at night.
The overall aestetic would have helped push that 'day vs night' concept.

@SimplyAz - I think that's what most of us are expecting to see!

As he had embraced being Superman by the end of MOS and seemed happy, the regression of the character made less sense.

Hopefully he is more like the end of MOS on his return.

@SimplyAz - it looks better/brighter here then the movie. probably just digital make-up. i think it needs to be toned down. made a little more humble. kinda like an upgrade of the Christopher reeve's one

@kallel -

I liked the idea of it being a suit that they wore on Krypton but a simpler lighter suit would be cool.

A colour similar to the light blue on the bottom left.

@SimplyAz - My reading of it is that he embraced his kryptonian origin while accepting Earth as his home (in choosing humanity over Zod's plan in the dream sequence).

That doesn't mean it's all downhill from there... BvS was a little more about humanity's reaction to having a Superman amongst them, and that was never going to be nice, not in a "realistic" setting anyway.

I know this comparison gets thrown around a lot, but Empires Strikes Back is by far the grimmest of the SW trilogy, even though the previous chapter was called "A New Hope"...

@SimplyAz - yeah i agree. i still think the idea of sup's humble old mother making a suit for her demi-god son is cool. but when its Kryptonian, you can get away with a lot.
i cant see the pic you sent. but i get the gist.
