The movie will be awesome but I think the Joker won't be The Joker we've come to know and love. He's just too gangsta and not you knw.. A clown.

@0megaDaGr0dd

That's.....actually a bit weird and borderline disrespectful

So something that feels like only the Joker would do?

@Amazing512

I feel like he should welcome the comparisons because let's be honest, we all will compare Leto with Ledger and Jack. Not saying Leto will be better or worse then them but it's just in our nature to compare. Like how we compare who's the best Batman or best Spider-Man or best Banner because we've seen so many different versions of these characters.

It's inescapable to think people won't compare so accepting the comparison while trying to make people proud of your take is actually the best course of action.

I don't think he's encouraging comparisons. The Joker, just as the Batman, is now a legacy of sorts in cinema history. He's just the next step, and he's honouring that legacy and the ones that came before him, nothing more.

@blackandyellow - Jack Nicholson Joker in 1989 was vaguely portrayed in the Animated Batman even though Mark Hamill did it better in 1992.

I doubt Leto will top Ledger or Nicholson and I think he's trying to convince people more than the studio. So I would say he's insecure about the role and he should be because .... You know why.

Baby Joker would knock Leto's Joker out.

Of course a few people on this thread would say he is being "harsh and disrespectful" yet they fully support the Troll Mackie when he flaps his gums non stop..........
