As Marvel Studios' Wonder Man Disney+ series begins to finalizes its cast ahead of a tentative production start early next month, TV Line has confirmed that Demetrius Grosse (Fear the Walking Dead, Lovecraft Country) will be on villain duties.
Grosse is set to play Eric Williams, brother of Yahya Abdul-Mateen II's Simon Williams, and the man who will ultimately become the Grim Reaper.
Ben Kingsley's Trevor Slattery will also appear, and Mindhunters star Lauren Glazier recently joined the cast in an undisclosed role.
A recently released logline reads: "[The] story of two actors struggling to make it in the Hollywood of the MCU, [asking] the big question: what does Hollywood look like in a world where super heroes are real?"
The project has also been described as “a love letter to LA and the industry," and producers Destin Daniel Cretton and Andrew Guest are said to be going for a tone similar to shows such as Silicon Valley, Dave, and Barry.
Stella Meghie (The Photograph) had been tapped to direct multiple episodes. Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings director Destin Daniel Cretton is on board as a writer along with Brooklyn Nine-Nine, 30 Rock, and Community scribe Andrew Guest, who will also serve as showrunner.
No premiere date has been announced.
