BIRDS OF PREY Plot Details Shed New Light On The Main Characters' Role In The Story - Possible SPOILERS
There are still a couple of main roles yet to be cast for Cathy Yan's Birds of Prey, but while we wait for that news, these new plot details may give us a much better idea of what to expect from the movie.
While we await the news of which actors have been cast as Black Mask and Cassie Cain in Birds of Prey, Revenge of the Fans has shared a few new plot details, some of which may be considered mild SPOILERS.
Firstly, we have updates on how Black Canary, Huntress, Harley Quinn and Renee Montoya will be depicted in the film and the roles they'll play in the story:
"Black Canary (Jurnee Smolett-Bell) is a singer who fights crime at night.
Huntress (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) was a killer for Black Mask right up until discovering that he killed her family. So now she’s hunting him down.
Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie) is trying to move on from The Joker (who is referenced, but not seen).
Renee Montoya (Rosie Perez), on the other hand, is on Huntress and Black Canary’s trail because of the body count they’ve amassed."
No major surprises there, really, but here's where we move into spoiler territory.
As previously suggested by the leaked plot synopsis, Black Mask will supposedly kidnap Cassandra Cain in order to exploit her skills as an assassin. Our heroes do band together to rescue her, but this happens relatively early on and the rest of the movie focuses on the team attempting to evade Black Mask's men and keep Cassie safe.
There's also mention of an "epic cameo" appearance from an unnamed character, but the site is clearly saving that reveal for a later date.
So, what do you guys make of these new plot details? Drop us a comment in the usual place.
“After splitting up with The Joker, Harley Quinn and three other female superheroes – Black Canary, Huntress and Renee Montoya – come together to save the life of a little girl (Cassandra Cain) from an evil crime lord.”
Birds of Prey is set to hit theaters on February 7, 2020.
