Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson has taken to Twitter to share a new teaser for Black Adam, and this latest look at the DC Comics film begins with a montage of clips from previous DCEU entries such as Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Birds of Prey, and Man of Steel.

Narrated by Amanda Waller (Viola Davis), the spot makes it very clear that Teth Adam was the ultimate power in this shared world before the likes of Superman, Wonder Woman and Batman arrived.

"Before a world of heroes and villains, one power ruled it all," Waller tells members of the Justice Society, who will be tasked with tracking the Man in Black down and bringing him in. Of course, that's going to be a lot easier said than done.

"From New Line Cinema, Dwayne Johnson stars in the action adventure Black Adam. The first-ever feature film to explore the story of the DC Super Hero comes to the big screen under the direction of Jaume Collet-Serra (“Jungle Cruise”). Nearly 5,000 years after he was bestowed with the almighty powers of the ancient gods— and imprisoned just as quickly—Black Adam (Johnson) is freed from his earthly tomb, ready to unleash his unique form of justice on the modern world."

Johnson stars alongside Aldis Hodge (City on a Hill, One Night in Miami) as Hawkman, Noah Centineo (To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before) as Atom Smasher, Sarah Shahi (Sex/Life, Rush Hour 3) as Adrianna, Marwan Kenzari (Murder on the Orient Express, The Mummy) as Ishmael, Quintessa Swindell (Voyagers, Trinkets) as Cyclone, Bodhi Sabongui (A Million Little Things) as Amon, and Pierce Brosnan (the Mamma Mia! and James Bond franchises) as Dr. Fate.

Black Adam will be released nationwide on 21st October 2022 by Warner Bros. Pictures.

I really, really wanted to be excited for this movie, but it's tough to get over The Rock in this role. He's just too cringe and stiff to be taken serious as a superhero. His niche fits as a comedic action star - nothing more, nothing less. It's a shame because the Black Adam character could have been a game changer for the DCEU.

I'm totally on board to check this out. I hope its fun. But from a strategic stand point, wouldn't it be good to keep the tie-ins to the old DCEU as small as possible? That way if it's a hit, they don't dig themselves deeper into having to stick with the old DCEU stuff. One of their issues is that some stuff seems to be working so they don't want to tear it all down, but the overall scheme isn't panning out.

Interesting. Look like they found Black Adam and accidentally revived or set him free. Hope Waller mentions Suicide Squad in some capacity
