Black Adam is assembling an impressive cast, and there's a lot of excitement about what Aldis Hodge will bring to the role of Hawkman. It was clear after watching The Invisible Man that he was about to breakout in a big way, and joining the DC Universe will almost certainly put him on the map.

The movie recently lost its December 2021 release date (which really wasn't a surprise), but Black Adam himself, Dwayne Johnson, did confirm that shooting begins in the Spring.

In the meantime, Hodge is hard at work researching the role of Hawkman, as you can see from the photo below which he recently shared on Instagram. The actor has credited the writers and artists he's drawing inspiration from with a series of hashtags, and he's clearly focusing on Hawkman solo titles and those revolving around the Justice Society of America

He certainly appears to be looking in the right places, and it's a shame we probably won't get a first look at his version of Hawkman until well into 2021. It should be worth the wait, though.

For now, check out Hodge's post below:

@soberchimera - It's the run that made him more interesting (for me personally) and that was able to make sense of his confusing origin as well.

This is...i dunno how many times i've seen actors do this shit.

It's boring as hell.
Only a handful of them know their comics.
