Black Adam star Dwayne Johnson recently revealed that reshoots are still underway on the DC Comics movie, and his costar Pierce Brosnan has now shared a behind-the-scenes photo of his own to Instagram.

Though he doesn't appear to be suited-up as Doctor Fate here (unless his costume is under the jacket), the former James Bond actor makes it clear that the shot was taken in the midst of filming scenes as the Justice Society of America member.

We have seen Brosnan's Doctor Fate outfit in previously release teaser footage, and it's a thing of beauty. Hopefully, that long-awaited trailer will give us a proper look at Fate and the rest of the JSA in action.

Brosnan and Johnson join Quintessa Swindell as Cyclone, Sarah Shahi as Adrianna Tomaz, Aldis Hodge as Hawkman, and Noah Centineo as Atom Smasher. Marwan Kenzari and James Cusati-Moyer have also been cast in supporting roles.

Jungle Cruise director Jaume Collet-Serra is set to helm Black Adam, which has Johnson, Dany Garcia and Hiram Garcia of Seven Bucks Productions on board as producers along with Beau Flynn of FlynnPictureCo. Rory Haines and Sohrab Noshirvani penned the screenplay, which is based off an early story draft from Adam Sztykiel.

Black Adam will blast into theaters on October 21, after originally being scheduled for release on July 29.

More excited about Dr Fate than the title character.

Brosnan is an interesting choice for Fate, although I'm hoping he isn't the de-facto Dr. Fate for movies moving forward. I'm still unclear on the timeline of this movie, but I'm hoping that this is purely order-bound Nabu and not Kent Nelson.
If Brosnan came back to reprise the voice role with different folks under the helm, you could differentiate this take on the mystical-powerhouse from the MCU's Doctor Strange.

@grif - Pierce as Dr Fate is probably the only reason why I'll see this movie...

@grif @TheHumanSpider2 - same. Only thing I care about is the Justice Society

Even then, they're probably gonna be nerfed because Black Adam has to beat them (per Dwayne Johnson's contract)

Never have been excited for the Rock as Black Adam, but damn I still can’t believe they got Pierce Brosnan in a CBM. Great choice for Fate too. While I still wish Aldis Hodge was playing a live-action John Stewart, him as Hawkman and Fate are what I’m most looking forward to seeing from this film.

@DTor91 - The Rock plays The Rock in every movie

Pierce Brosnan as Dr. Fate is great casting. I really hope he isn't wasted. I hope this movie is really solid. But given the track-record, I won't hold my breath.

Wow, that girl's name is "Quintessa"?!? As a HUGE Transformers fan, that really rings some bells, mostly the obvious one of the Quintessons (The Transformers '86 movie + animated seasons 3 and 4), but also Quintessa from "The Last Knight". Let's not talk about that, no no no).

@StSteven - only reason I was interested in Quintessa being in Transformers 6 because of Gemma Chan. Other than that, we best forget that
StSteven
StSteven - 5/16/2022, 5:19 PM
@bkmeijer1 - Consider it forgotten. However I am holding out hope that they do something good with "Rise of the Beasts" considering that it's mainly G1 designs AND Beast Wars characters so we'll see...

@bkmeijer1 - I'm probably being a little harsh there. "The Last Knight" did have some redeeming qualities (i.e. Stanley Tucci as a drunk Merlin cracks me up), but in my opinion they tried to do something too different from what they had done before to keep it fresh and it ended up being a mess. But the original cartoons from the 80's were the same way (got 'em all on DVD). In fact there's one episode called "A Decetpicon in King Arthur's Court" which is exactly as the name implies. My point is that I give the movie writers props for trying to do something different with each movie to keep it fresh, but I think that what they failed to realize is that what you can get away with in Saturday morning kids' cartoons doesn't necessarily translate that well to multi-milliondallar movies (and TF is not the only victim of this fallacy).

So I'm holding out hope that they continue the steam form "Bumblebee" into the next movie (which based on the robot designs alone it seems like they're doing"), and give us a really great TF movie (there's also a completely CGI movie set on Cybertron coming as well). In the meantime I'll be sitting here with my Decepticon tattoo on my left shoulder in my bedroom dedicated to my TF collection waiting... Yes Mom! I want the meatloaf!!!

@StSteven - it does have some fun stuff. Anthony Hopkins and his butler were a funny addition, and that final setpiece of them flying and fighting through the Cybertron hanging pieces was pretty cool.

The smaller scale stuff from Bumblebee has some great qualities too, which I hope continues in the Beast Wars movie.

Also, you gonna add that Lego Optimus Prime to the collection? Gotta admit it looks pretty sweet, and would look pretty dope next to the Lego Voltron.

@bkmeijer1 - Oh ho ho, I'm well aware of the LEGO OP and he's definitely on my radar. The price isn't too bad for me considering that I already shelled out way more than that for the Unicron and the Robosen OP (both Christmas presents from my wife, FWIW :)). My TF collection is bordering on obnoxiousness (like I said I have an entire bedroom full of them). I also just received my "Mighty Thor" Mjolnir and have my Darth Vader helmet on pre-order from Hasbro Pulse. Yeah, I'm waving my geek flag loud and proud.

@StSteven - that is pretty cool. The Star Wars thing I wanna add to my collection is probably a lightsaber
StSteven
StSteven - 5/17/2022, 12:09 PM
@bkmeijer1 - Yeah I have one that I got as a Christmas gift a couple of years back that's hanging on my movie room wall but it's one of Hasbro FX (or whatever it's called) ones that typically run about $50, so I don't have any of the fancy ones. I'd like to get one but I'm running out of shelf space in there as it's mostly full of movies, so my nostalgia toys and movie collectables are kind of piled in the corners or hanging on the walls (like my Avengers corner with Mjolnir, Stormbreaker, the Eye of Agamotto, Cap's shield, the Nano Gauntlet, etc.). Anyhow, one of those expensive light sabers id rather down on the list, but is still on the list ;). Now the real question is: who's light saber do you get?
bkmeijer1
bkmeijer1 - 5/17/2022, 2:31 PM
@StSteven - I'll probably want to make my own one at the shop in Galaxy's Edge.

I guess it's kinda with Lego, I just wanna build something myself before I put up on the shelf.

StSteven - 5/17/2022, 2:57 PM
@bkmeijer1 - Oooo, good call. It'll probably be a while until I make it to GE (or Disney World in general given the COVID situation and the fact that I have an unvaccinated 2 year old). Plus both my 2 year old and 6 year old are girls and even though they love Disney I'm probably the only one who wants to go to GE, so there's likely to be a lot of Minnie and Disney Princesses before Daddy gets to do his silly Star Wars Land. Oh, well, whaddya going to do? :)
bkmeijer1
bkmeijer1 - 5/17/2022, 6:17 PM
@StSteven - sneak off while they're being distracted by Mickey and Minnie?
StSteven
StSteven - 5/18/2022, 11:18 AM
@bkmeijer1 - That's going to have to be one hell of a distraction because if I'm paying to get into GE I'm not just going to pop in to make a light saber and then run back out. I'm going to be there all frickin day (remember, they serve alcohol there now ;)).
