BLACK PANTHER Deleted Scene Features A Husband And Wife Confrontation Between Okoye And W'Kabi

USA Today has debuted the first Black Panther deleted scene, which will feature on the upcoming home release of T'Challa's critically acclaimed solo adventure.

The footage is introduced by director Ryan Coogler, and shows a tense confrontation between Danai Gurira’s Okoye and Daniel Kaluuya’s W’Kabi. While the theatrical cut of the film made it clear that these two were married (or in a relationship, at least), they didn't share a lot of screen time, so this would have been a welcome scene to set up the pair (almost) coming to blows during the climactic battle.

Check out the scene below and let us know what you think. Black Panther will be available from May 8 on digital HD platforms like iTunes and Amazon, and then on Blu-ray and DVD on May 15.

@knocturnalzen10 - Bud! I didn't see your reaction, did you like the movie???

Also, Eff him. He's still in the Wakandan sunken place after his lil disloyal switcheroo.

@PrincessLeather - i loved !!!!!!!!!!!!! the film was so well done and layered , especially with the different dynamics of all the films..... thanos isn't that layered in the comics so i give all involved a big bravo for it..... going this weekend again for the 3rd viewing

the odd thing is you don't really like the film until the second time because you're so critical the first viewing. by the second one you're just allowing the story to flow and work imo

what did you think of it?

@knocturnalzen10 - I thought it was the best thing since air conditioning!!!

I fan girled out plenty. I was on here like when your team wins and you start giving everyone high fives.

I loved everything. Everything. My son cried, I teared up. Thor was the MVP to me lol. His scenes were gold and his intro to the battle in Wakanda had the entire theater clapping and screaming. Thanos was Perfection. How he went from ruthless and calculating to someone actually struggling with his self given mission...the soul stone scene with Gamora made me teary eyed. The fact that she thought he didn't and was incapable of love, turns out he did but his quest for the stones over powered it. You could see it hurt him. Wow.

The fight scenes, the funny scenes...to me still hearing Caps last words in my head. Instantly send me back to that feeling of dread.

I left genuinely feeling as if I watched my friends die and there was nothing I could do about it. I was numb.

Going again this Saturday for the early show AND since my birthday is near the end of the month I took the day off so I'm going to do Solo and another viewing.

@PrincessLeather - nice!!!!!!!!! hemsworth show actual acting chops with the interaction with rocket expressing his loss.

peter scene was a bit too much for me especially having a child :/.... thanos was overwhelming layered to the point where he'll be written differently in the comics moving forward .

THOR is just M.A.N..... SERIOUSLY ! not including him eating a star's radiation ...wow
and i chuckled a bit at rhodey when he got squeezed .... he has the worst luck at this point lol
my son was extremely sad as well with the peter scene .
SW powers are outlandish at this point because she held him off with one hand !!!!!!

hope you enjoy again this weekend :)

@knocturnalzen10 - my sons face when he realized Peter was dead... broke my heart. I had to tell him it's ok, we'll get him back. We'll get them all back. Tears were streaming down his face and I could tell he didn't want us to see. He wanted to be strong but Spidey is his guy! Walking out of the theater was something. It was a collective silence I've never experienced before at a movie.

@BlackBeltJones - We waited until my oldest returned to the country to see Black Panther (IKR?). It was awesome! I put it with Winter Soldier as my 2 best Marvel films. There were more fun Marvel flicks, but these are the two best, IMHO.

Man I wish this was in the final film. Adds a lot more depth to each of their characters and would've definitely helped to flesh them both out. Plus these are great performances.

Should’ve stayed in the movie imo. Daniel Kaluuya’s character was a disappointment in the movie...just underutilized.

This is a good scene though. Still pisses me off T’Challa didn’t say anything to his close friend about Killmonger attacking his camp and helping Klau escape.

@regularmovieguy - "Still pisses me off T’Challa didn’t say anything to his close friend about Killmonger attacking his camp and helping Klau escape."

He clearly knew about it already anyway. He states in this scene that he is basically mad at the fact that T'Challa brought Klaue to the CIA first and not to Wakanda. Not to mention, if he told him that his dead uncle's son stole Klaue from him, that would unearth his father's secret. T'Challa clearly didn't want it revealed. He stopped W'Kabi beofre he could venture down into Shuri's lab and see the background on Erik. He merely said Klaue slipped through their hands. He even ignored Erik when he said "ask me who I am?" and ordered for him to be taken away. T'Challa put his father's secrets above all else at that time.

In the end, Erik brought W'Kabi what he wanted all along, Klaue dead.

@BlackBeltJones

If Killmonger hadn't let him escape - T'Challa would've brought W'Kabi what he wanted.

But yeah, I know what you mean. I still found W'Kabi underdeveloped in the movie. Wonder if he'll have any role in the sequel. Maybe imprisoned or something.

@regularmovieguy - T'Challa put that at risk. He told Ross that Klaue was coming with them but Ross said we'll see about that. I think when Klaue revelaed what he revealed about Wakanda, that also tossed a wrench into T'Challa getting Klaue.

The very act of allowing the CIA to get a crack at Klaue sort of illustrated T'Challa's ignorance about how important it was to W'Kabi.

W'Kabi was shortchanged in the movie. I think a scene highlighting how deeply the loss of his parents affected him would've helped. I'm sure the day Klaue escaped is a day of infamy. My roommate had a cool idea, she thought it would've been interesting if W'Kabi had become obsessive iver finding Klaue and was even in contact with War Dogs overseas, helping him track him. Something like that, idk. Just to sell his pain more.
