As expected, Marvel's Black Panther has crossed the half a billion mark at the domestic box office after just 17 days on general release.

T'Challa's first solo outing clawed in an estimated $65.7 million on its third weekend, bringing its total to $501.1M. This means it has also broken the record for the biggest domestic gross on an Oscar weekend.

Globally, the Ryan Coogler-directed adventure now stands at $897.7M, and is set to open in China this Friday. All going well,  Black Panther will most likely have joined the $1 billion club by this time next week.
