There must be a lot of celebrations going on at Marvel Studios this weekend because The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that Black Panther is set to make history at the box office to score a four-day opening weekend of $205 million. The movie has generated an A+ CinemaScore from audiences and after earning $25.2 million in Thursday evening previews, it made an estimated $70+ million Friday.

Disney is erring on the side of caution by predicting that the movie will debut with $190 million - $205 million but it's entirely possible that Black Panther will top The Avengers ($207.4 million) to become the biggest superhero movie of all-time. Whatever it ends up making, though, it's a huge hit for Marvel Studios and has exceeded expectations in a way literally no one could have imagined a year ago.

Deadpool is the current February champ with the $152.2 million it made back in 2016 but Black Panther will effortlessly top that; not bad for a character many people hadn't heard of before Captain America: Civil War, eh? With 97% on Rotten Tomatoes, word of mouth will be a big factor with this one and you have to believe a sequel is going to be announced any day now. Have you guys seen it yet?
