We've been wondering for a long time what the deal with Bloodshot is, but it now appears as if the movie will indeed wind up meeting its February 2020 release date. As you can see below, Sony Pictures has released a gory trailer teaser which appears to show some of the character's origin story.

It's going to be very interesting to finally see more footage from the movie, as fans aren't quite sure what to make of this one and it's either going to exceed expectations or be another Hellboy. We'll see!

Here's the synopsis for Bloodshot:

After he and his wife are murdered, Marine Ray Garrison (Vin Diesel) is resurrected by a secret team of scientists. Enhanced with nanotechnology, he becomes a superhuman, biotech killing machine – Bloodshot. As Ray first trains with fellow super-soldiers, he cannot recall anything from his former life. But when his memories flood back and he remembers the man that killed both him and his wife, he breaks out of the facility hellbent on revenge, only to discover that there’s more to the conspiracy than he originally thought

Dave Wilson, a frequent collaborator of Deadpool director Tim Miller, is helming the movie. The script was written by Arrival's Eric Heisserer, while Kick-Ass 2's Jeff Wadlow also contributed.

Check out this trailer teaser for Bloodshot below and check back tomorrow for the full thing!

I'm not too familiar with this. Is it a graphic novel based movie, ooriginal script or something else?

Sounds like someone was watching Robocop when they wrote this premise up.

Please be good, please be good, please be good. Although it’s weird now that Paramount bought the rights to the rest of the Valiant characters. This just feels like a remanent.

@TheUnworthyThor - If this fails there likely wont be any other Valiant properties made into film for a while, which would be disappointing.

Hopefully everyone on the film watched the first Robocop and Upgrade. Especially Vin Diesel.

@Comicbookart - I thought that was going to be the case with Sony owning all the Valiant characters. They would just concentrate on the Spidey characters and not take anymore risks with the Valiant heroes. But since Paramount specifically bought the rights I no longer think that is the case. Maybe if Bloodshot gets glowing reviews and bombs horribly they might rethink things. But if it gets bad or middling reviews then I think they’ll think they can it better. I think Paramount is eager to get in on the comic book game and Jokerms box office success only fuels that further. Now that CBS and Viacom are back together they look to be ramping up and they are desperate for franchises. And with Gemini Man bombing hard they’re going to look to other things.

Really hope this kickstarts the Valiant Cinematic Universe..................but this is Sony. Universal, Paramount, or WB really should've bought the IP instead.

Why on Earth would they release their trailer the same day Rise of Skywalker's trailer comes out?

I hope the trailer's good, I've never read Valiant before, but I've heard their comics are very good.
