The Falcon and The Winter Soldier introduced us to Isaiah Bradley, a Super Soldier imprisoned by the U.S. Government due to their ignorant, racist concerns about America having a Black superhero. His story arc was one of the show's most hard-hitting elements, and the fact his grandson, Eli, was also introduced pointed to the newly introduced character's legacy being key moving forward.
In the comic books, Eli becomes Patriot, the leader of the Young Avengers. There was no indication in the Disney+ series that he had superpowers, but it would make perfect sense for Isaiah's abilities to have been handed down to his grandson. It would make even more sense for Sam Wilson, the MCU's new Captain America, to train the teenager when he returns.
Talking to us about his role in Hollywood Stargirl alongside co-stars Grace VanderWaal and Tyrel Jackson Williams, we asked Elijah if there's a chance he could suit up as Patriot in Captain America 4.
Unfortunately, Marvel Studios has trained him well as the actor was quick to reply, "No comment" with a smile. After we wondered if his co-stars would like to join Eli in the MCU, Grace responded by saying, "Heck yeah," while Tyrel joked, "I mean, obviously. Let's just do Stargirl again but as superheroes this time."
You might want to check out the video below because at the end of the interview, we jokingly mention to Elijah that we're excited to see him in Captain America 4, and you can be the judge when it comes to whether his laugh gives anything away! The movie doesn't have a release date, but we know Malcolm Spellman and Dalan Musson are hard at work on the screenplay.
Hollywood Stargirl premieres on Disney+ on Friday, June 3!
