Brendon Small Confirms [adultswim] decision to cancel METALOCALYPSE Season 5

A disappointing day for Metalocalypse fans as the series creator, Brendon Small, confirms Adult Swim’s decision not to renew the series that has lasted four seasons, a special, and a comic series.

As Metalocalypse fans eagerly awaited the return of the show from it’s recent hour long “Klok” Opera Special; Brendon Small has been pushing for [adultswim] to finally fund the fifth and final season of the show. However, as Adult Swim’s budget for shows has gone down significantly in the past years, they have made the decision to not renew Metalocalypse for a final season. This obviously came as a surprise to hordes of metal fans who have been with this series for nearly ten years. Brendon has made statements in the past hinting if [as] didn’t fund a new season, he would pitch it to another network or make an album to end the series. Obviously, only time will tell for a matter like this. A petition has been launched by fans recently and it has attained nearly 10,000 signatures. In the meantime, if you would like to support the show, possibly swaying [as], I would suggest buying the merchandise or even sending letters to the [adultswim] offices.

Part-American, part-Scandinavian death-metal band Dethklok has a lingering effect on its fans, who take the words seriously and do anything Dethklok lyrics say. The government fears the band's influence and sets out to destroy it by covert means; for example, by sending military pharmaceutical psychotropic drug manufacturers. Deemed sociopaths for tossing hot coffee at their concert attendees, two of the band members are alcoholics, and they all have self-esteem issues.
