"I knew this was coming. Too young to survive alone, too old to fool." These thoughts by young Cleo accuratly shape and sum up the plotline and events of her life.

During the latest issue of Blade Runner 2019, violence breaks out to take over an already dreary tone that is set from the beginning of the issue.

From the very start, Andres Guinaldo's strong art style helps bring the focus towards the gnarly imagery and gory death scenes. What is described as a cost in personnel is quickly also said to be nothing unusual - depicting the usual cloud of death that hangs over our characters even outside of the covers of these issues.

The entire issue may seem like it is devoted to death and destruction at first - but in the wake of everything terrible that takes place in issue #5 of Blade Runner 2019, an unlikely frienship is formed - injecting just a bit of heart into the story when it is most needed.

The fifth issue of Blade Runner 2019 is a violence-driven massacre from top to bottom yet still finds a way to wiggle in a dash of friendship. Featuring all of the sci-fi elements that Blade Runner fans love, this should be on your list this holiday season. - Four out of five.

Michael Green, the Oscar-nominated screenwriter for Blade Runner 2049, and co-writer Mike Johnson (Star Trek, Supergirl) begin a new story in the smash hit sci-fi comic set in the iconic world of Blade Runner! Seven years after her disastrous last case, veteran Blade Runner Ash is low on cash and short on options... Illustrated by Andres Guinaldo (Justice League Dark, Captain America).

Blade Runner 2019 #5 goes on sale today, Wednesday, December 18th, for $3.99. You can also purchase it online here!
