The June will see the final issue of
The Amazing Spider-Man from writer
Dan Slott. After a decade spent writing the title, Slott will be moving on to write
Tony Stark: Iron Man after the conclusion of his final issue.
Marvel has now revealed their cover for Slott's issue,
The Amazing Spider-Man #801, which Slotts describes as "everything [he] loves about Spider-Man".
During his tenure on the title, Slott's writing style and storylines weren't always immensely popular with fans, but he was also involved in the creation of many brand new additions to Spider-Man's rogues gallery and supporting cast, along with the controversial Superior Spider-Man story arc. Writer Nick Spencer and artist Ryan Ottley will take over the title after Slott, which will relaunch as
The Amazing Spider-Man #1.
