Many assumed that the teaser images released over the last week or so have been hinting at a spin-off series for Robert Kirkman's wildly popular zombie comic book series. However, at today's Image Expo, details were revealed that a new 12-part bi-weekly miniseries is in the works for the Image comic book series. That's right, for six months, 'The Walking Dead" will be released twice a month instead of only once.

Joining Kirman and artist Charlie Adlard on the creative team will be Dave Stewart as cover artist and Stefano Gaudiano as inker. Talking to MTV Geek, Kirkman stated, "The story will show civilization rebuilding, and with civilization comes conflict." The official Walking Dead website states that details on the four factions teased below will be released in the coming months.

"All Out War" kicks off in October.

I was hoping this would eventually begin in TWD. What I also want to see is maybe a miniseries about a different part of the world in the Walking Dead-verse.

This is going possibly be a good story but the worth of these books are about to go way down. The print runs are going to huge.....get ready for 90s comics to be back in effect!

The art is great, the whole book has been really strong from the get go. One of the few comics I've never stopped buying.

I was about to stop reading the Walking Dead because it was getting as stale as the corpses, but the way Negan interacts with Carl got me interested in just what Carl's role is to become. I think if this mini series shows us the larger world and what's going on, it may be cool.

Honestly though... I think Walking Dead is about to jump the shark.

@StrangeBlackPantherDoctor- Except for the fact that Carl is only 9 years old in the comics.
