Thanks, in large part, to the massively successful DC Universe: Rebirth event, DC Comics remained the top publisher for the third month in a row, taking eight of the top ten selling comics of the month.  Batman #6 was the top selling comic of the month, with new series Trinity #1 at #7, and Supergirl #1 sitting at #8. The other two positions belonged to Marvel's Civil War II #5 and Image's The Walking Dead #158 at #4 and #6, respectively.

Unfortunately, comic book sales overall are down from last month by over 20% in both the dollar and unit shares, as well as graphic novel sales by about 8% . It's not all bad news though, as year-to-year sales are up overall from 2015 with a 3.32% dollar share increase and a 1.59% unit share increase from last year.

Well done DC, they struck gold with Rebirth!

Yeah Marvel lost me as a reader. Every one of my favorite characters has been changed too drastically. Don't even know the characters anymore. I should go buy a couple of Rebirth books. Could never get into DC comics. Now seems like a good time to try. I'm really only interested in Batman though.

@WYLEEJAY - Pick up Batman, Detective Comics, and Justice League to ease the tip in. Once you get loosened up by those titles a little, you'll be ready for the girthier Rebirth books like Superman, Action Comics, Flash, Wonder Woman, and Aquaman. If you're not too stretched out you can try other good books like Titans, Suicide Squad, and Green Arrow.

@Ramiel - agreed.

I am waiting for a Marvel Rebirth which will bring back the real iconic heroes, no iron man girl, no wolverine woman, no cap falcon, no hulk asian...

If Marvel wants minorities they should create new heroes from scratch! not alienate us fans with changing well established characters

@KikinGonzalez - Its funny DC EU needs to look at the Marvel movie formula and Marvel comics needs to look at the DC COMICS formula.

Create a new character

And still keeping the original

Good. DC's success is consider more important for the foundation of comic book industry today than what Marvel has done. I'm glad they're on top, and judging by the solicitations for Marvel in November... It doesn't look like a return to status quo.

It's cool. You tank and destroy your comics line for a few years with New 52 then you get back to what made you great in the first place with Rebirth and everybody starts buying your comics again. Looks like Marvel is copying the same formula.
