I like Charles Soule but I wish Millar came back to write this.

@grif In secret wars, random places, moments in time, and pieces from alternate universes have been gathered to battleworld so anything can happen. Its actually pretty interesting!

@grif it's part of their current secret wars crossovers. The new battle world is made up of several distinct regions and each region is basically it's own alternate reality. In this story Civil War never ended. There's one that revisits age of apocalypse, one on old man logan, days of future past, etc.

Here's something that this variation should cover that the previous one really didn't: exactly what are the exact rules and regulations of the superhero registration act? Other civil war book had there own interpretations of the the act does. Also they need to show the pros and cons of both sides. They only showed the good from the pro side. Some good and bad are shown from the con side but not a good resolution.

I'd love to see Marvel Studios create a movie out of the Secret Wars concept somewhere down the line. All the heroes and villains siding up on battle world would be something extremely epic to see play out on the big screen for 2 hours with a 200 million dollar budget.

I stopped reading Marvel comics right around the time they decided to change the X-Men costumes to the movie version, despite the lack of quality and without any real rhyme or reason. It was then that I realized that Marvel comics, since at least the late 90's, have been more commercials for the movies than anything else, with few exceptions here and there.

Still don't really get what's going on. Secret Wars is some confusing, convoluted sh!t.

You guys crazy- civil War was awesome! it's what got me back into comics as a grown up and is one of the few marvel events that ACTUALLY changed everything and is still relevant now

@Parkerluckpersonified agreed!!

This new Secret Wars has introduced a bunch of cool new stories to tell and I'm liking some of the current books a lot.

@BIGBMH To make a long story short the Marvel Multiverse was destroyed due to the Incursions caused by the Beyonders but Dr Doom saved it by creating a composite world made up of parts from different dimensions called Battleworld.

So wait, is this CWINO?

Or is this a piece of an alternate earth where the Civil War is ongoing?

Either way, this multiverse collapse, Battleworld stuff is way too convoluted for me.

This is the start of Marvel going forward. This isn't a revert back in 2 years to the way things were. This is it, the worlds and stories coming out of Secret Wars IS the new Marvel Universe. The execs have said several times that part of the reason was to streamline characters and stories and get the new readers that are reading comics because of the movies to start at a place that doesn't require them to search out back issues or jump into the middle of a story. It's great marketing and so far a really good story. Do a bit of research on what Marvel is doing and why they are doing it and then try reading a comic without the assumptions.

This site is sad and needs to be cleaned up. so many idiots on here it's not funny. also, this site is filled with haters. just straight up haters. the same stupid haters hate on stuff that they have no clue about. if you do not read the comic books, watch the TV shows or like the movies, why do you click on and comment on articles about them?
people REALLY need to get a life. like seriously. get a girlfriend or boyfriend or something, because I KNOW you don't have one, as mine is giving me a dirty look right now as I type this for wasting my time, and I only post on average of once a month, so, I know you idiots that post once per half hour have NO life at all.
READ THE DAMN COMICS and all of this will make sense. Secret Wars has spawned all of these titles for a reason. so, if you are asking "why are they doing this again?", well, instead of being a shut in that lives on comment sections of websites, go read the damn books and you will find out.
you guys are worse that the idiots calling a movie epic before it is even finished filming, lol.
there's my rant. I know it will make some of you cry (or rustle or whatever geek meme saying you people are using because English is too hard for you), but the truth hurts.
Later, I shall abandon this lost cause of a thread now. gonna stick to reading my comic movie related news at Cinemablend, as there are98% less idiots over there.

@monkeyballs
They aren't mad because people don't like the comics, they are mad because people are saying they don't like them when they haven't read them and don't understand the story line. This is a very understandable gripe. It's as annoying as people who review a movie based on a trailer or a clip they saw online. Don't be a jerk, this is easy stuff to comprehend. If these comics need to be broken down Barney style for the then maybe they should choose a different hobby.
