Guillermo del Toro promised us that there would be more adventures from the world of Pacific Rim and he has delivered with the announcement of a new official series by Legendary based in the Pacific Rim world. The new series, entitled Pacific Rim: Tales from the Drifit, will seve as a continuation of the bestselling graphic novel Pacific Rim: Tales from Year Zero.  The new series will take fans back to the frontlines of the larger-than-life battleground and feature never before seen Jaegars facing off against all-new Kaiju. Pacific Rim: Tales from the Drift is presented by director Guillermo del Toro and will include a story created by Pacific Rim screenwriter Travis Beacham.

As if the Pacific Rim comic series weren't enough, Legendary also announced today that it will also be launching two original titles. First is an espionage thriller Black Bag, starring Legendary Comics' first female action hero. The series revolves around a suburban wife-turned-covert government assassin. The new title comes from writer Chris Roberson, creator of the breakout comic iZombie, which was recently adapted into a network TV series by The CW, and features art from fast-rising talent JB Bastos, known for his standout work on Night Trap.

For the second original title, Legendary has partnering with acclaimed writer Steven Grant for Cops For Criminals, a new crime-thriller series about a federal agent who is forced to find true justice in the criminal underworld. Pete Woods, whose long and storied career includes iconic franchises such as Deadpool, Catwoman and Robin, returns to pencil, ink and color the title.

Sam is back and Krampus have arrived and Halloween and Christmas will never be the same! Legendary Comics is taking the twisted stories from the mind of Michael Dougherty from the screen to the printed page with the recent announcement of two graphic novels based on Trick 'r Treat and Krampus. Hitting stores later this year, the all-new books are tied into the world of Dougherty's highly-anticipated big screen releases.

"I've been having way too much fun working with Legendary and the rest of my team bringing the ancient legend of Krampus to the big screen, and I look forward to expanding the film's dark Christmas mythology onto the comic page. And hopefully the fans who've been patiently waiting for TRICK 'R TREAT 2 will enjoy this deeper peek into Sam's world until he finally rises from the pumpkin patch once more. Happy Holidays.” -Michael Dougherty

I hope Legendary does a continuation of Godzilla: Awakening. That was a really fun graphic novel. I also love the fact that we're getting Trick 'r Treat and Krampus comics. Trick 'r Treat is a fantastic movie and the 2nd best Halloween movie ever made (second only to John Carpenter's Halloween). Can' t wait for Krampus, I'm excited to see what the creator of Trick 'r Treat does with the Christmas theme.

I think that you'll be disappointed when Godzilla gets finished curb-stomping the other kaiju. They're only "Kaiju" after all and Godzilla is a "Daikaiju".
