Today, Marvel is pleased to present the first issues of three blockbuster LAST DAYS stories, leading in to the highly-anticipated Secret Wars. Beginning in May, be there as your favorite Marvel heroes face their final hours, and the obliteration of the Marvel Universe!

First, Al Ewing and Luke Ross bring you a story of the people who faced the end of the world together, shoulder to shoulder in the face of destruction in CAPTAIN AMERICA & THE MIGHTY AVENGERS #8. Some of them wore costumes, and some of them didn’t. Some of them had super-human powers, and all some had were each other. Yet they were all Mighty Avengers in the end. And this is how they spent their last day.

Then, ask yourself – what will your legacy be when it’s all over? Cullen Bunn and Javi Fernandez have the answers in MAGNETO #18. The Mutant Master of Magnetism has learned his time is all but spent. A life of struggle and torment brought to a cataclysmic end at the destruction of all things. With everything he’s fought for his whole life brought to its unavoidable ending, how will he cope? Will he celebrate his legacy – or be tormented by it?

Finally, the end of the Marvel Universe extends into Asgard and beyond as all the Ten Realms face their final hours in LOKI: AGENT OF ASGARD #14. Al Ewing and Lee Garbett bring you the curtain call of the God of Mischief. Ancient enemies march on Asgardia seeking their final vengeance – including King Loki, meaner, madder and more dangerous than before. Where is our Loki? What tragedy has befallen him, here at the end?

Before Secret Wars can begin, the Marvel Universe must end. And it all starts this May as the LAST DAYS story arcs begin in Captain America & the Mighty Avengers #8, Loki: Agent of Asgard #14, and Magneto #18!

They're not killing him. He's very much involved in Secret Wars. Whether he remains as Captain America or not post Secret Wars remains to be seen, but Sam Wilson will be very much alive.

Also they are not getting rid of the characters this is all just set up for Secret Wars and more then likely these comics are all going to get cancelled. Does anyone really think they would get rid of Loki for all the conspiracy nut jobs thinking Marvel is killing off the X-men and the Fantastic Four as some petty F U to Fox why would they get rid of Loki.

Well the other heroes are White Tiger, the new Power Man, Blue Marvel, and the last was a long standing member of the Avengers in the 80's and 90's Quasar/Photon/Captain Marvel/whatever name they have given her she has changed names a lot.

Glad to see someone gets it. I wouldn't be surprised if more than half (maybe all) their titles get a Last Days arc.

Do you really think they're going to kill of Captain Falcon? Not a chance. His solo series JUST STARTED. Marvel is probably just doing this because they're going to cancel these titles after SECRET WARS concludes. I don't see CA & TMA, Loki: AoA or Magneto being relevant after the MU gets tinkered with.

So DC have come to let WB model everything - their movie lineup, their animated movies and games and merchandise etc. - to model everything they do from the new 52's reboot - and only now are Marvel trying to do the same despite the MCU being successful on it's own?

God. Marvel really want to milk themselves dry.

You're not the only one there. I quit buying most titles when they went new52 on the entire 616 with their MarvelNow crap. Tired of the stale sales gimmick of remumber every title every year just to sell a "first issue" again. Tired of crossover events that make little sense, done poorly, and anti-climatic. Absolutely repulsed by the cinematic universe now dictating how the characters are portrayed in the 616.

I advise everyone who feels that way to do what I do. Just don't give them your money. Don't buy the trash. If you like whats going on then go ahead and support them, but if you don't, the only way you can make a difference is to not give them your money. If enough people do that, then maybe we can get back to the good old days when they spent money on talented writers and artists and Cap was Cap and Thor was Thor and Tony Stark wasn't a dick and there weren't 200 Avengers running around.

Haven't read a comic book in ages and don't plan to start any time soon, but all of the events and universes and cross-overs and everything would just feel like a giant cluster to try and get my head around if I wanted to jump back into the books.

@Alfredo27

Are you talking to me because I never said Magneto won't be relevant all I said is he won't have his own comic book. They will probably be cancelling most Marvel titles now and relaunching with new ones when Secret Wars is over. A super villain not having his own comic book is in no way saying they aren't relevant when was the last time Dr. Doom, Joker, Lex Luthor, Darkseid, Green Goblin, any other hugely important villain had their own comic book or one that ran more than a mini series. Super villains generally don't get their own long running title besides teams like Suicide Squad and Thunderbolts.

I stopped buying Marvel comics regularly almost 15 years ago. I read The Incredible Hulk continuously since 1982, but since 1998, Marvel has just become over-run by the same "creator-owned" people who almost killed comics at that time. Joe Quesada, Jim Lee, all these guys who are no where near the level of showrunners like Jim Shooter or Dennis O'Neil, it's no wonder all these events are over-used and don't have any ramifications. When they brought back Bucky, it was a sign of Marvel blowing their load. Same could be said of DC resurrecting Barry Allen.

@James99201 Same here. They have written Sam Wilson as a huge prick as Captain America.

Wow. So much stupidity online over Secret Wars... It is not a reboot. DC does reboots. Marvel is proud of their continuity.

I am actually really excited for this shake up. Hickman does no wrong if you ask me so this has a 100% chance of being incredible.

If you have been reading his work since FF, it has all been building up to this, and the stakes have never been this high in any comic, period.

It is also genius how it is the "Event to end all Events" and is based around the first Marvel Event, Secret Wars, and ties all the majors Events together in an epic final war for the multiverse.

BEST EVENT IDEA EVER.

Jesus, some of you guys sound like those a-holes who get butthurt when a band "changes their sound". Comics are always going to change, because society changes. There's always going to be new readers, so that's why Marvel are most likely going to reboot everything after Secret Wars. They want the cleanest slate as possible so new fans are no longer scared of not knowing what to pick up.
