COMICS: New SPIDER-MAN/DEADPOOL Series On The Way

At the "Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends" SDCC panel, it was announced that a new series coming this Fall from Joe Kelly and Ed McGuinness would team the Merc with a Mouth with the Webhead. Check out the first cover and some pencils after the jump...

Spidey and Wade Wilson both have new movies in the works so what better time to team the two similarly attired characters together for a comic series. Back in the '90s Joe Kelly and Ed McGuinness worked together on many memorable Deadpool issues (some actually featuring the Wall-Crawler) and it was announced at the "Spider-Man And His Amazing Friends" panel at SDCC that they'd be re-teaming for Spider-Man/Deadpool. Check out the cover and a couple of pencilled pages from the first issue below.

“The book is funny, I hope,” said Kelly during Sunday afternoon's panel. “We’re working on our barometer of good taste. The challenge of the book is that they’re both funny. Spidey is one type of humor; Deadpool is a very different type of humor.” More at the link below.

I've always hated Spider-Man because of his humor but I love Deadpool because of his humor. I hope Deadpool does something very irrational to make Peter (or Miles?) feel bad for making shit jokes.

Ewwwwww. Differences between the two is one is a character and one is a tourettes riddled spoof.

I mean I love Joe Kelly so maybe it won't be complete shit, but phuck this Deadpool over exposure. He is literally the most overrated comic book character of all time.

That's cool. A series like this is a reason why a 15-year old Spidey can never interest me as much as a post-high school one can.
