I'm not sure I'd be 'correcting' Vader.

@darthbastard I liked the first issues of Star Wars, not sure about Vader's solo series.

Did anyone else think the dialogue between Vader and the Emperor to be awkward and not anything like the films?

@MarkyMarkRises that's exactly what I was thinking!

I know the dialogue was so weird... it wasn't like the films even though Vader and Palpatine spoke a total of 2 mins

Like the idea of a story being told from Lord Vader's perspective. I've heard good things about the first issue of this series. But I still really don't like the cover for this issue. It just doesn't strike me as an imposing image of a all-powerful Sith.

@MarkyMarkRises

We've never had a scene in the films where Palpatine so callously talked down to Vader in obvious irritation. So, yes, I'd say it's not like the films because it's never been in the films.

These Star Wars comics are one of the best things in Marvel. They are really that good and a fitting successor to the EU.

Why is the art today so baaaadd? Awful, the cover make it look like there should be rainbows and margaritas for everyone.

Looks great... but I can't justify paying four bucks per issue. Looks like TPB's only for me going forward with my Marvel and slight DC collection.

well, theres are like what? 6 varient covers per issue? lol.

I really like it, as a lifer SW fan i had to take some of the instances with a grain of salt.
But i always wondered how we went from "The force is strong with this one..."
to "I Am your father" in one film...

Vader messing with Jabba, the original crew back together.
(post new hope awards ceremony)

now there is a Leia version coming out?>
IDK about all that (Despite the killer cover...with NO Leia)

It is pretty cool to see 2 books compliments each other's events from two distinct perspectives... as mentioned the Vader/emperor dialog as mentioned was bit more like that great Robot Chicken Scene at that one part...
But only 2 issues in on SW, and #2 about to drop in vader... Ill give them #10 issues to see where they are going.

but im def liking it so far

The Marvel Star Wars comics are some of the best, I've read. Better than Dark Horse. Marvel has started both story arcs, a few weeks after, the destruction of the Death Star in A New Hope. The art in both books, is wicked good. Princess Leia will have a 5 book arc coming soon and an arc of Kanan: The Last Padawan.
