Joss Whedon's 'Firefly' return has teased by Dark Horse Comics. All Firefly fans should be very happy about this..


According to Publisher Dark House Comics..
"Joss Whedon's beloved Firefly series and Serenity film's lifespan may have been short-lived, but managed to produce one of the most dedicated fanbases in the history of modern science fiction," said the publisher.


"Dark Horse is proud to be able to keep Mal and his crew flying with new comics and products."


Updates about the new series is coming Facebook, Twitter and Instagram under the #WheresSerenity hashtag.

never watched firefly but i've seen most of serenity.

right bare with me for a second,i'm gonna try & say something here.

"serenity is better than the avengers".........

FINALLY! I can't wait for this. Hopefully Whedon writes a few arcs as well, like he did with Buffy Season 8/9.

I'm gonna be absolutely sincere and perhaps be a little controversial for a change: I think Firefly, while a good show, is Whedon's weakest.

I don't want to sound dismissive, but I think it speaks to a sci fi crowd with its cowboys-in-space motif. At 13 eps it's less daunting to burn through, and it's like a Whedon fan crash course, whereas in fact it contains the least of Whedon's sensibilities, and is probably his least thought-provoking show.

I know it's probably not for everyone, and I'm not trying to be contrarian, but Dollhouse to me is vastly more interesting. It gets a terrible rap, for some reason, but it's wholly satisfying, and could have the most satisfying finish of his shows since Buffy, brief as the show's life proved to be.

Yeah, it's really great. The mileage they get out of that show's central conceit is amazing.

Yeah, exactly! And it's showing you this situation - this scenario that is horrible and morally deplorable, but at the same time striking and poetic and kinda beautiful.

There are so many scenes that have that duality to them, and it's impressive how those conflicting emotions work in harmony.

It extends to the characters themselves, as well. Topher is *so likeable* and at the same time so staggeringly scary in his curiosity-propelled work. "Did I think of this?" breaks my god damn heart every time.

Yeah, I totally agree. And it sets up characters to carry those sentiments so beautifully, and put them forward with such grace.

And yeah, Alan Tudyk is fantastic in it. It's the kinda surprising turn that Nathan Fillion got to do on Buffy. That was wonderful, too. Really, um, catches... your eye. :D

For me (and this is obviously hugely subjective as I think they're all superbly acted) Amy Acker takes the Dollhouse cake, though. Keeping it similarly vague, neither of her *various roles* on Angel - which were already completely different - feel anything like this in turn. Saunders is electrifying to me. Her scenes with Boyd and Topher, respectively, are some of my favourite in the series.

"I guess I'm just... built that way." [frick]! I'm giving myself goosebumps just thinking about it. I should re-watch it again. :D
