COMICS: DC May Be Heading Towards CRISIS 2015; Pre-52 and New 52 Characters To Clash?
The New 52 has been met with a mixed response since its debut three years ago, with some fans clamouring for the return of previous continuity. Well, they may be getting their wish - inside sources claim that DC's April 2015 event will see characters from various realities "face to face!"
Bleeding Cool's Rich Johnson, infamous source of often reliable comic book rumours, has uncovered a mysterious new DC Comics project that he is dubbing "The DC Band-Aid". With next April being the 30th anniversary of the multiverse-shattering Crisis on Infinite Earths, and the publisher's three weekly titles (Batman Eternal, New 52: Futures End and Earth 2: World's End) set to end in March, the site has been suggesting that something big is coming in ten months time. Well, Johnson has learned that the "Band-Aid" project "consists of twenty two-part stories plus a weekly book running through the two months, totalling 48 books in all."
He says we'll see various DC characters from different realities going head-to-head, suggesting that it's inspired by last year's Injustice: Gods Among Us videogame, and "will include Pre-52 versions of various DC characters, face to face with their New 52 counterparts." Johnson states that it's being planned well in advance by Dan Didio and Marie Javins in order for DC to keep publishing books during their move from New York to Burbank. None of this has been confirmed as of yet, but Bleeding Cool has been right in a lot of cases over the years. If DC are working on Crisis 2015 - or "The DC Band-Aid" - what alternate charcters and earths do you want to see?
