COMICS: DC Release Full CONVERGENCE Promo Image

Earlier this week DC announced next year's Convergence event which promised to "rock the DC Multiverse to its very core." The first image gave us a look at new villain Telos, and this expanded version highlights more of the worlds that'll be effected, plus the official logo.

Next April, DC are putting their entire line of superhero comic book on a two month hiatus when the events of the Earth 2: World's End and The New 52: Futures End weekly series spin out into Convergence. We'll also meet a brand new villain named Telos, who we had our first glimpse of the other day. Now DC have released this expanded version of that image, and there's a LOT more to see. Click on the image for a larger look.

Convergence will be a nine-week miniseries kicking off April 1st, and will "spill into 40 two-part miniseries in April and May featuring a variety of writers and artists examining the worlds of the DC Universe over the decades, as well as the heroes and villains contained within." The story is described as a "meta epic" by co-publisher Dan DiDio, and involves Brainiac bringing together the populations of all of the multiverse cities he's trapped over the years in an experiment to see what would happen if they were to meet each other. Out of this, a new supervillian named Telos (Greek philosophical term for "end" or "goal") will be introduced. The series is to be penned by TV producer/writer Jeff King, who'll make his comic book debut.

It is Telos? WTF is going on! Lol I'm really not up to speed with all of the new 52 changes outside of a few titles so I honestly don't know what half of DC characters look like now. I thought it was confusing before, now I'm really at a loss.

I'm looking forward to it. Nothing's going to top Crisis on Infinite Earths as the best comics' event in terms of scope and importance.

Some BvS "spoilers"...

A paid extra for "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice", who asked to remain anonymous for obvious legal reasons, has exclusively informed the Superman Homepage of two scenes in Detroit he was involved in shooting for the upcoming superhero movie. "The first scene we filmed was with Jeremy Irons",he says. "It was out in a field with young Bruce Wayne. A flashback to the Wayne funeral. The small set was really cool with the hearse vehicles sporting Gotham license plates."
This was the location with the Wayne family mausoleum and a few graves near it which we saw photos of late last month.
"The second scene I was involved in was situated in a half-stadium style set surrounded by tall green screen walls. Henry Cavill was on set dressed as Clark Kent, but did not film with us that day." He continues, "This scene was a parade scene to take place in "Washington D.C.", obviously the CG effects for the surroundings would be placed in post production."
Now for the major spoiler of this report...
"The parade, we were told, was the funeral for the President of the United States."
"I wish I had more pics but our phones were checked in before filming and we didn't get them back until the end of the day."

It is all over the place. Not only are there different worlds in the multiverse but also different time periods within the same universe, some spanning between continuity changing events, but still canon. Trippy

They teased the old teen titans in a few images, interesting to not include that here, considering that's one of the worst areas of the new 52. Exciting to see kingdom come.

A while ago there was a futures end teaser with the original Tim Drake costume, hope to see him back to his full glory.

Also why is flash with those gotham ladies?

Lots to digest

Do I see Kamandi in the bottom left? If so that is great. In the second one at the top on the left is Aquaman, Green Lantern and Steel, but I can't tell who the other person is? It looks like Spawn, yet I know it's not. Seeing Captain Carrot and the Zoo Crew is awesome. I hope after this even it will bring a new universe. I know it won't though. But it would have been great to see the best of the New 52 being merged with the Pre New 52.

Wow... @slickrickdesigns... you DO know that the multiverse in DC comics has existed for decades befor the thor movies yes?

I just hate how the Marvel movie verse has created FALSE comic book fans that think everything they0ve seen in the movies is the legit version when in fact is only scraps of what the rich comics medium offers.

so final crisis wasn't actually final.

also dc fans trying to be expert on all things marvel, how is secret wars a repeat event? the teaser poster showed alternative versions of characters from the marvel universe going at it.

how is this the same as what was it 15 heroes going against roughly 15 villains in the original secret wars?

I read DC and Marvel both regularly and always have. This is more like the infinite crisis spinoff "Arena" than secret wars so let's stop wasting everyone's time comparing. Every time a publisher or the movies from either side does something people immediately waste their time comparing and saying one company ripped off the other.

Writers and editors switch, there will always be some crossover. Chill

@Thebest20

They're not comic book fans, they're comic book movie fans. I've seen many of the fans turn to the comic books after falling in love with the movies. Claiming to be a comic book expert is one thing, being introduced to the comic books though the movies is another. It's a beautiful thing and proves that the comic book art will never die, it will only grow.
