This needed a shot of his crotch. There's not a cover in the world that wouldn't be improved by a good crotch shot.

I am HUGE fan of Romita Jr's work from the 80's and 90's (along with Klaus Janson's inks), but John's recent work always looks like he's rushing and not taking his time, like he's mailing it in just to get a paycheck. He can definitely do better!

There's something to say about an artist who has their own style and is easily recognizable. That does not always equal good art though. Give me his artwork from the '70's when he was just getting started, i.e., Iron Man or his '80's work, but take this back to Kick-Ass.

Not a fan of the artwork. I was perfectly fine with the art of late in Superman but I'm happy that Johns is writing. Glad to have a subscription too.

Hate, Hate JrJr's art. But optimistic about Geoff Johns coming on. We'll see how it goes.

On the particulars of the story it sounds like a rip off of the Wraith from Unchained. But again it sounds like Johns has big plans for Supes so we'll have to see. Cautiously optimistic for now.

@ whoboy62
So right (mostly).
Disclaimer: I am NOT comparing J.R.J. to any of the greats down through the ages. So I don't want to here any complaints about "daring to compare him to . . " X,Y, or Z.

If Jack Kirby, Steve Ditko, Carmine Infantino, Bill Sienkiewicz, or Gene Colan were drawing today (not yesterday, but today), their unique styles would be savaged by this crowd. All of them played with proportion and rendered the human figure in such bizarre ways that caused the viewer to re-evaluate what the comic experience was all about. The advantage THEY had was that they got to evolve slowly into their iconic techniques with no one commenting or caring what they did - AS IF they had suddenly popped on the scene full blown geniuses.
I restate for the hard of reading: Johnny Romita Junior is NOT as good as those giants previously listed. But his path to a unique style is exactly the same.
You may not like his style . . . but the man can draw.
That cover up there has nothing to complain about (other than the over-wrought Jim Lee uniform).
like I said before, if I was still buying "floppies," that would be one of the very few I'd purchase.
How about we focus our ire on some of the more mediocre artist, those without any vision.

Also that drool looks nasty.

Just found out they are upping this book to 4 bucks. WTF!!!!!!

SO PISSED!!! Why the extra dollar???? For the shitty art?? I've been collecting since #1 and I love Supes but this book is this close to being dropped.
