thats how i felt as well. I mean first off, most comic fans are man or boys and every gay guy i know personaly thinks comics are "juvenile". So I not sure why they are doing this but it does look cool

Gay characters in comics can be very overwritten. It can't be subtle.

i think Bunker has been done pretty well as far as gay characters in comics. there isn't anything about his character that makes him stand out as being gay for the sake of having a gay character, he just seems like a friendly, talkative dude. it only becomes evident that he's gay because wonder girl is hitting on him and he needs to explain. other than that, nothing about it really seems forced.
except for maybe the costume. most people i know say its what batman's costume would look like if he came out.

Ughh his dialogue sounds forced. The writers are exaggerating the fact that hes gay.

This looks pretty good. I want to see how they portray this new version of Earth 2 heroes. Y es there are a great many Alan Scott fans, The original and one true Green Lantern. Interesting how the green flame referred to Superman as a Sun God, I have a feeling we haven't seen the last of the Earth2 Superman, which would make for some great stories down the road.

They need to stop focusing on the fact that this Alan Scott is gay. It's already been established so let's move on.I agree some of the dialogue is unnecessary.

Cant wait to read this. Ive ALWAYS loved Alan Scott GL. I like the updated train accident.
Him being gay doesnt change anything. An normally Im against changing things such as race. It asks for public confusion and it is done for the worst reasons. Ive always said create NEW characters for diversity.
However that doesnt apply to being gay, since the character themselves may have not come to terms with their own sexuality in the the past. Nothing is changed really.
Love this series so far

The dialogue is terrible . Just terrible . It is so forced and utterly ridiculouse . And I do not care if he is gay or not . Who really cares ? I know the whole move was a dickish move but still it takes nothing away from this charecter , there were times though when alan is talking to his
Man fellow and I was heasident to turn the page because it seemed the was going to be some serious dick sucking going on . It's to in your face about it. When it shouldn't

Some classy comments already.

Sucks that Sam didn't make it, but I guess it's better than being stuffed in a fridge.

I haven't bought a comic book since Secret Invasion. If I saw something ground-breakingly original, sure, but this is just another bit of reboot.

I'm not one for jumping on a soapbox and I genuinely enjoy regularly visiting this site, but is it necessary to refer to him as the "gay Green Lantern"?

Sure, his sexual orientation has and will shape his character, but I'm not sure it's necessary to reference his sexuality unless the context requires it.

Somewhat more on-topic, the dialogue between Alan and the magical green flame is pretty poor and while I've never talked to a magical green flame, I'm not sure my reaction would be as calm as Alan's.

I'm "gay" and I couldn't give two craps that the Lantern is gay... its either gonna be a bloke or a sheila for any character to date or love. It's their ammo for their upcoming fights.

The Chartreuse Lantern: "Ugh, suddenly I have an urge to buy a Barbra Streisand album".

Don't worry it's only a side-effect from he Chartreuse Flame.
