DC's upcoming MOBA Infinite Crisis (currently open to Beta access) will become a new weekly, digital-first series from writer Dan Abnett. Hit the jump for more details on the title, scheduled to hit this May.

Starting this May, DC will launch a new weekly digital series based on Infinite Crisis, its new multiplayer online battle game, with the print version hitting shelves in July. Writer Dan Abnett has signed on to write the new title, with a bunch of artists joining him on various issues. The official statement from DC details that it will take place before the game begins:
The Infinite Crisis comic takes place before the start of the videogame, before the Crisis kicks into high gear and all of the heroes and villains are recruited by The Monitor to serve as Champions and battle against unseen enemies to save the Multiverse.
As in the game, characters from alternate DC Universes will be joining forces to try and stop the approaching Crisis. Prime Earth Batman will join forces with the likes of Gaslight Catwoman, Arcane Green Lantern, Atomic Wonder Woman and Nightmare Robin.
In addition to the infinite characters from the video game, Harbinger has been redesigned for the comic book series and will join new character Atomic Two-Face in the action.
While there were no other details given - such as exact release date, or series length - some concept art from the series has been released, along with the cover of the first issue.
