Following DC's Trinity War, which is happening now, the villains will take the spotlight the month of September for a special villains month. In preparation for DC's new 52 first big event "Forever Evil."

In this event all the heroes have disappeared. Including the Justice leagues and the villains have taken over. It is all about the bad guys. As can be seen from the teasers and preview covers for the limited series.

But is it really all about evil? On the cover for the preview of Forever Evil issue two, we see a group of the most nefarious villains. But where is the Joker? The absence of Arguably the most infamous baddie of all in such an event is curious. Furthermore, Catwoman is present on the cover, in company with the other bad guys. Although recently she has been characterised as more of a hero then villain. And also................Batman????

A recent interview by Newsarama with artist series David Finch Can seemingly reveal that this team actually is more on the side of good and order and that they are fighting against the other villains.

The main star is Lex Luthor who is usually up to no good. Yet in this case he has other motivations

Finch: "Yeah, because it's in his interest to... I mean, chaos is great for Lex Luthor, as long as he's controlling that chaos. And this isn't a chaos he controls.
And he, in a way — in a big way — takes advantage of the kind of stability that heroes can give to the world. It gives him a stable world that he can exploit.
So now that that's being taken away from him, he has to make a decision about whether he wants to just continue to look out for his immediate interest, or whether he has to play, perhaps temporarily, for the common good so his long-term interests are protected."

This would make sense if you look at the roster for rest of team. The new Bizarro is said by Finch to be a creation of Lex Luthor. Who's purpose is to be a replacement for Superman. Sinestro and Black Adam are more anti heroes then straight out villains these days. Captain cold is a "blue collar" villain. In it for money but not evil per say. Only Black Manta is the real question. And with this revelation Catwoman and Batman fit right in to this "good guy" team. So maybe forever evil is not so evil after all.

You can follow Trinity war in the Justice league, Justice league America and Justice league dark titles in your comic store now.
