DC has Snyder on Batman & Superman.

Do the smart thing Marvel and put Mark Weid on Spider-Man or put up a white flag.

Spidey deserves a great writer.

I hate the whole Marvel vs DC thing (as I like both companies) but Marvel books (overall) continually outsell DC in dollars and units, so why would they have to plant a white flag over one [possibly] good Superman book? I ain't trollin. but that seems a bit presumptuous.

That said, I'm looking forward to this book AND the movie (Superman fan since Superman II baby!).

@beane2099, the quality of DC's main books is better than Marvel's main books, they may sell better but they aren't better.

Because although Marvel sells more it's because of there movies and tedious events. Also the point Levi was making was that Batman and Superman are written very well and Spider-man is within the trinity of the 3 heroes in terms of recognition, so he should be written just as well.

@Superguy, I hope your are right. If MoS is even half as good as it looks, there will be a new wave of Superman fans, who'll be looking to get into the character, so I am hoping this gives them a Superman they can remain interested in, as Action Comics started well, then Morrison got drunk, then they got rid of the one person who wrote a decent issue.

And don't even get me started on the Superman comic itself...terrible!

Jim is the reason I got into comics as well.

If Cavill's hair was more tousled he'd look just like Lee's characters.

Between Greg Capullo, Ivan Reis and Jim Lee, DC is kicking Marvels butt in terms of artists.

@MrGod - There should be a longer preview on Sunday or Monday, I expect. This one is actually being billed by DC as "Hey! Check out our cool double-sided poster!" And nobody got it exclusively. I'd be SHOCKED if some big, mainstream media outlet didn't get the first five pages of this "exclusively" at the beginning of next week.

@JorEllinator I don't DC has better main books than Marvel, I think it is really just preference. Both have very good main books.

Good to know. I mean with all the publicity with Man of Steel it would be a missed opportunity if they didn't give this comic some publicity.

@ TheWolverine08

Sure, it may be on preference, but if that's the case than then you're not looking at the quality of the Comics. Here a good example, Scott Synder's BATMAN is STILL one of the best comics DC is selling because of the quality of writing, and than we also have Aquaman and Justice League Geoff John's has been working on... and as for Aquaman who wasn;t taken seriously has this entire ORIGIN that's being created under Geoff Johns. He's simple become like the Thor of Dc, he rides Sharks and uses his Staff to control climate and lightning..... Green Lantern Comics just had a Trilogy story arc that just ran through the beginning of Nov until this May...with the first Lantern.... unfortunately I dunno which direction they'll go now that Geoff johns has left GL, but DC has those books on lock down. Justice League of America Good book, Suicide Squad awesome book.... Teen Titans meh, Red hood meh, Nightwing is good, just slow paced for readers that like character development...

Now lets look at Marvel, All-NEW X-Men is probably the BEST comic Marvel has out they already have their 4th and 5th prints for the first 5 issues lol. Avengers, New Avengers, Uncanny Avengers all run among each other because it's all leading towards INFINITY WARS. So, though it's kind of a pain keeping up with all three, you sort of have to because they all have adifferent meaning....other than those books the new Marvel titles have established themselves yet... Fantastic4, FF, Wolverine (Meh!)...Savage Wolverine was good until the last issue.... Deadpool is SO Watered down (killusration was awesome, but it's a trilogy)... Now Marvel just release X-Men #1 with an all female group it was a good read... But than you look at what Marvels done with Spiderman.

MARVEL has destroyed Spiderman. They have destroyed Deadpool also. Indestructible Hulk is lame, great art work... but the whole Frost Giant story and hulk picking up Thors hammer -__- I'm just dropping it...Iron man was doing great until the last few issues now its just lame... THOR IS AWESOME, awesome art work, writing everything (like aquaman)...

But if you really compare the 2 companies... DC is doing a better job story-wise... while Marvel is selling do to their controversy and releasing of their new comics like X-men, New Wolverine, and the killing of Peter PArker in Oct's Brain and so forth... Sure sales are great but people are buying it because of the RE-SELL value ...at least that's one of the biggest reason I buy it to collect and re-sell...

Sorry for the long essay mate lol... I do agree with you that it has to do with preferences but if you look at the micro-economics of the books DC is being written better...and they are TRYING to do different things with their characters. Only new thing Marvel's done so far is bring the original X-men to the future so Young scott could see himself...That was brilliant!

@ LEVITIKUZ

"Marvel and put Mark Weid on Spider-Man"..."Spidey deserves a great writer."

INDEED. I love Spiderman, but they have butchered him, over and over...and over. It pisses me off... I don't choose sides like Oh, I'm strictly DC or Marvel... A real Fan respects both companies. Marvel ripped most of their characters off of DC, but Dc did the same thing later after Marvel did that...But, the fact Marvel did it FIRST.

Also, Marvel is more ground, so I don't expect DC to be grounded... They are fantasy based lol....That's why I find it funny when people bash DC... So many Fan-boys it makes me sick!

Anyways, I totally agree with you... Spiderman needs justice not this stupid Superior Spiderman crap. -_-

TheWolverine08
TheWolverine08 - 6/6/2013, 3:15 PM
@Aiiwolf I agree with some of your points, but Marvel has a couple of other quality books. Scarlet Spider(best Spiderman book), Thor God of Thunder, Wolverine is starting a cool arc called Killable in July, Daredevil(IMO one of the top 3 comics being produced right now), Hawkeye, and others. So DC and Marvell are pretty much neck and neck in quality, while Marvel outsells DC.
TheWolverine08
TheWolverine08 - 6/6/2013, 3:27 PM
@Jollem When people say Marvel is more grounded, I think they mean less powerful. Because it is true that most of Marvel's heavy hitter are weaker than DC's.

DC really need to put Sean Murphy on a Bat book

Artwise though I think Marvel is killing it - Coipel, Pichelli, Immonen, Cheung, Brooks, Opena are all insane.

fan wars are pointless... let us bask in the warmth of jim lee's skill!

but on a related note, does anyone else worry about diminishing returns (in terms of story content) for these big tent poles? What's batman on - 10 books now!?
