While the WTF Certified label may have been dropped but this image is still surprising and teases the secret origin of the Boy of Steel.

Superman and Lois Lane may not be an item in the New 52, but their lives are tied by Superboy a clone created through a combination of both of their DNA.

So what do you guys think of this?

Does that make him...like...the kid from Superman Returns?

I guess that's better than a superboy who got his powers when Superman saved a plane and was struck by lightning at the same time. Played by Haley Joel Osment.

LOL @ Mulanzo (and I dont use the abbr LOL for just anything)

It feels better than having Luthor genes (though looking at WHY LOIS? beckons some questioning...) and staying as nothing more than a hand-in-creation. Also, explains why Kon's not that inherently smart (which I always felt wasnt present in the previous universe's SB as well).

With that said... not thaaat interesting. I'm sure I'll read about it eventually.

What would you rather have a genetically mutated love child of Superman and Lex Luthor, or a child between Superman and Lois Lane?

if anyone actually read the book they'd know that this version of Superboy actually has 3 strands of DNA, we now know for certain about 2 strands, third one is still probably Lex but its not yet revealed.

Gatefold means April Fools for DC in the New 52...like when Action Comics had Jimmy as "Superman's arch nemesis" on the cover, but it was clearly Lex Luthor in the book.

Take these covers with a grain of salt, people. It's an April Fool's prank by DC.
