Hi everybody, this is my first article ever and I wanted to share some ideas with you. When the Young Justice show was announced I was really excited because I was a big fan of the comic book, also I felt that there was the need for a good and serious DC comics animated series because Justice League Unlimited was long gone.
Back in February of last year, Stephanie Lemelin was the first to announce via Twitter that she was casted as Arrowette, she also posted a picture of Artemis. Then later in April,it was announced that the female archer in the team was Artemis and that Arrowette would make an appearance on the show as well.
Series creators Greg Weisman and Brandon Vieti stated in an interview that Artemis was an existing character of DC comics, so I thought maybe Artemis was Mia Dearden. In the episode "Infiltrator," Artemis' arrival to the team was mysterious, alledging to be Green Arrow's niece and Red Arrow not buying that, she appeared to have a past history with Cheshire and the League of Shadows.
So I did a little digging on internet and I came to the conclusion that Artemis may be Artemis Crock(Tigress),Sportsmaster's daughter, this makes sense considering that Artemis is an expert marksman and archer and that Sportsmaster was already introduced to the show in "Drop Zone" as an agent of "The Light". In this same episode, after the directors of "The Light" got their hands on the venom blockbuster serum, they vowed retaliation against the team and it was later revealed in "Infiltrator" that "The Light" was in alliance with the League of Shadows and had placed an agent on the team.
So how would this be developed later in the series? I really don't know but it could be played in two ways: the same way as Terra was approached in the Teen Titans series, bonding with the team then turning against them maybe becoming Tigress in the process and later sacrificing herself to save them. Or the way the Black Widow is being approached in the Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes series, being a triple agent for Batman and the League against "The Light".
So what do you think? Leave your comments below, and remember this is my first article so be nice please.
