Back in 1995, when Jimmy Palmiotti and Joe Quesada created Event Comics' Painkiller Jane  I'm sure they never dreamed it would one day generate two television projects on SyFy channel and an upcoming features film. In December of 2005, SyFy aired a made-for-television movie that that starred Emmanuelle Vaugier. Then in 2007, SyFy produced a television series based on the character, which starred Kristanna Loken ("Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines").

And today, The Hollywood Reporter reports, The Soska Sisters, Jen Soska and Sylvia Soska, have been hired to direct the adaptation of Painkiller Jane. The twin horror directors are best known for directing Dead Hooker In a Trunk and American Mary.

Jane centers on the titular heroine, a cop, who, along with with her best friend and partner, goes undercover into an interconnected drug ring.  When Jane’s identity is exposed, her subsequent torture leaves her with preternatural regenerating abilities and a high tolerance for pain.
